The Manfrotto 030-38 Hexagonal Quick Release Plate with 3/8" Screw is a standard-type hexagonal quick release plate for the RC0 hexagonal quick release system. It comes with a 3/8" camera screw, which can be tightened to bear against the camera base plate.

Manfrotto makes serious quality quick release plates. I needed to mount a cinema camera with shotgun mic, L-lens and LED light panel. Some people stated online that there was an adapter you could buy for the cinema camera so that you could use a 1/4 screw. 3/8 of an inch is about 1/3 more meat than a 1/4 inch screw. Buying the 3/8 plate was well worth the money considering the more solid mounting you get.
I have bought more than a few of this kind of quick release plates, both with 3/8 and 1/4 screws . To me, this Hexagonal Quick Release system has provided me more reliable holders of my cameras and lenses than other quick release systems I had tried thru the years. I like these styles of plates. The prices are less than some of the other systems too. They are beefy, easy to be tightened and fit well in the release safely. Yes, I always double check the fit of the camera or lens making SURE that the plates are securely lock and fit INTO the release before I let my hands go.
