The Manfrotto 030-38 Hexagonal Quick Release Plate with 3/8 Screw works as intended, for a reasonable price. It makes a really firm connection between a large lens and the tripod. There isn't much more to be said about the product. It's high quality, shipping materials were very nice and everything was great!
Same review as for the 625 RC0 adapter I bought this so I could easily swap my tripod heads onto my tripod. I also bought an additional 30-38 plate for this purpose. I removed the 1/4 screw delivered on the plate and replaced it with the 3/8 screw. I mounted the adapter to my tripod and the plates to my tripod heads. Except for the 2.5 hands necessary to remove the plate from the adapter (this is the price of sturdiness), this is a great solution.
