    Raynox DCR2025PRO reviews

    DCR-2025PRO 2.2x Telephoto Lens is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 40.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent quality for a decent price I mounted this attachment on to my V1u, and it does a relatively good job of boosting the telephoto capabilities of the camera. Frankly, I wouldn't mind if a more powerful lens like this could be made, but there are only so many options one has when you're working with a fixed-lens camera like the Sony V1. I find this attachment easy to mount, but because it screws on instead of using a bayonet mount, you might miss out on a shot because you were busy trying to put the thing on. This lens gives you a very narrow field of view, so you're only going to be able to get the most out of it when you're zoomed in 85% or more. I haven't noticed any major distortion, and for what it costs, it is a pretty good accessory.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Double your digital camera zoom I always dreamed about those many thousand $$ telephoto heavy lenses, but the price/performance for an amateur was too high. Then I finally found one for a price lower by an order of magnitude compared to those professional lenses. For the price I though.. Aww,what the heck.. and tried to buy one. Unfortunately in my country there's no distributor so I made an international purchase directly from B&H's website. The delivery was fast. Upon reception I attached the lens to my Panasonic FZ100 and voila! It performed exactly as expected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As advertised After several hours of use in various environments this conversion lens works very well with my Panasonic Lumix FZ200 camera. To my eye there is no discernable drop-off in sharpness with this lens that doubles the size of an image. I do not detect any color distortion that a couple of other reviewers have noted elsewhere. The threaded mount takes a while to attach but is secure and dustproof. I see no reason not to give this lens a top rating in its price range and for whom photography is a fairly serious hobby.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More pics from my 20255pro 2.2 I took the below two pictures using the Raynox 2.2X on my sony 400V. The camera can zoom out to 100X (actually the image you see in the view finder at 100X is equivolant to 48X seen through a telescope. However, I zoomed to 50X which is equal to the image seen through a spotting scope set at 24X. This 24X is all magnified by the lenses. The second half of the cameras zoom is all done by electronically zooming the 24X image. With the 2.2X screwed onto the front of the cameras lense, the magnification at 50X is now 210X (210 times the wide angle view). or 52.8X optical image. The robin was on a fence 50' away. The photo was enhanced by raising the color saturation level and the contrast level. The picture also was vignetted to darken corners and make bird stand out. Grackle was Robin were shot with lens stopped down 2 stops smaller than maximum opening to increase depth of field and sharpen image.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice accessory for long distance photography and video As someone who does a bit of wildlife and long exposure astro photography, in addition to regular travel photography, I was looking for something to extend the effective zoom range of the Panasonic FZ1000 beyond its already very good range. My concern was that there are a lot of cheap tele converters out there that are really unusable even under optimal conditions. I came across this Raynox lens on the B&H web site. I knew from previous experience with buying from B&H, that they only stock products that meet pro or advanced user use. While there wasn't any information that referred to this Raynox lens being used successfully with my Panasonic FZ1000, I knew B&H has an excellent return policy when needed. My concerns centered around whether this tele converter lens would work with my camera's auto focus system or whether I would have to rely strictly on manual focus. The other concern was how usable the quality of the photo or 4K video image would be with this lens attached to my camera. Obviously, like with most tele converters of this type, you are working with the camera's zoom set near its maximum zoom setting or at its actual maximum zoom setting. I have to say that this lens works beautifully with the Panasonic FZ1000. Auto focus works perfectly and there is no noticeable image distortion associated with the lens' use. Not only does it provide excellent image quality in the optical zoom range (400mm boosted to 880mm), but through the complete digital zoom range as well (1600mm boosted to 3520mm). Very impressive image quality from the FZ1000's image sensor, even at these extreme levels. On the 4K video side of the FZ1000, the image quality with this Raynox tele converter 2.2x lens attached is equally impressive. I also use a Tiffen 82mm clear UV filter on the end of the Raynox to provide s level of protection for the lens itself. No discernable loss of image quality with the addition of this protective filter in place. Obviously when you're using this type of setup, you have to use a good tripod. There is no way, even with the camera's build in vibration compensation, that you're going to be able to hand hold and shoot at maximum zoom. I would also recommend you use a remote shutter switch. I use the Vello RS-P1II, which is a fraction of the cost of the Panasonic version and works the same.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good but not great Use a Pemaraal adapter. Step ring unnecessary. Light. Sturdy. Good definition at center. Quite long, especially with sunshade (included) 2.2x is a nominal designation. I get about 1.8 at 50ft. with my fz28 at 486mm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good teleconverter for digicams This is a good enough product, not excellent. It is however a great compromise between quality and cost. Evidently its performance varies somewhat between different models of digital cameras. Unless a teleconverter like this one was designed specifically for a particular model of camera it will produce vignetting at low zoom settings (the corner shadows mentioned by a previous reviewer). In most cameras this is eliminated by going to a higher zoom setting. I have used this product with point-and-shoot digital cameras and with camcorders. Currently I use it with a Panasonic HDC-TM300 camcorder. An example of a video shot with this equipment (though my dining room glass window nonetheless) can be found here:@I am very satisfied with this product. ...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good match for Canon camcorders Canon doesn't offer many telephoto options for their camcorders. I use an XA10. Since the Raynox is light weight, it is a good match. Getting 2,2x with acceptable light takes a lot of glass, which would be hard on the lens mount of small camcorders. This lens solves the problem. 2.2x is a luxury for older prosumer models (hate that term!). The result is quite sharp. This is the only non-canon option worth considering. I love mine!!!
