Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Perfect Solution I have a Gitzo Tripod Ball Head that was just a little too small for my XL Gitzo tripod, so the tightening levers wouldn't close entirely, and I couldn't tilt my camera to vertical, without bumping into the top of the tripod... lifting it up using this converter place was the perfect sub-$30 solution! Plus, it's hollow on the underside, so adds almost no weight. One word to the wise - check the threading on your head and tripod - you may need a conversion thread like I did to make them fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adapta-Plate Not a very sexy product, perhaps, but when you need to attach a tripod head with a 1/4-20 female hole to something (tripod head) that only offers a 3/8-16 stud, then this product is perfect. It is substantial though still sufficently light weight. Its knurled circumference also makes it very easy to tighten or, if circumstances dictate, to loosen. I even bought a second one just in case. A product worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rock solid conversion The Manfrotto converter plate is solidly machined and performs its primary function flawlessly - adapting a 1/4 panning head mount to my Manfrotto 3/8 tripod. The plate is large enough to provide solid support, much better than a small nut-adapter solution. Highly recommended if you have a mix of 1/4 mounts you want to use with your pro tripod.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exact fit Just what I needed to convert a 3/8 to 1/4 (ugggh al these heads, tripods, sliders, glide cams etc). I was skeptical at first, as I'd like to test something like this out, but it fit & was what it needed. Durable & stable design too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great adaptor for Gigapan The Gigapan Epic100 is designed for a 1/4 inch tripod socket. I use the 3/8 professional tripod so needed an adapter. This works great and offers a solid footing for the Epic 100. Easy to take off for your regular head.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a very hand item to have on hand I carry a range of adaptors but this one is good because it is big enough to fit perfectly onto a tripod and can be grabbed quickly from a bag due to its size. It is well engineered and good quality.
