Yes, the Bogen 3047 originally took a #3049 plate, which this replaces.

The Manfrotto 030-14 Hexagonal Quick Release Plate with 1/4"-20 Screw will not fit the standard head on the Bogen 3021 tripod, which takes a rectangular RC2 QR plate.

According to Manfrotto/Bogen, the Bogen 3050 is a combination of the 058 Tripod and the 029 Tripod head. Assuming this is correct in your case and the tripod head has not been swapped, it will indeed take the Manfrotto 030-14 hexagonal QR plate. I bought an older model Manfrotto #055C Tripod ...
I bought an older model Manfrotto #055C Tripod last week and it has a #136 tilt/pan head mounted but It requires a hex QR plate to use on a camera. I either need that hex plate or I need to go to another head for a 35mm DSLR digital camera. Is this hex plate compatible?
Double check to see if the female adapter mounted on the 055C is the RC0 Rapid Connect Adapter. If it's a Manfrotto and if it looks like it takes a hex plate (they make rectangular couplers as well) then the 030-14 is the only one it takes.

The Nikon D80 does have 1/4-20 thread for mounting to a tripod, so this plate would be compatible with your camera. For the most part, all DSLRs are going to have 1/4-20 thread.
