RS-RT04/N10 Wireless RF Release is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 47.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing I have found this remote only works with any precision about a third of the time. The rest of the time there is either a major lag between pushing the button and the shutter firing or it simply doesn't work at all. The plastic is very lightweight and there was no reinforcement for the cord that connects directly to the circuit board inside the receiver. It would be very easy to accidentally disconnect the cord from the circuit board inside the receiver and ruin the unit.If this was a $20 item, I would simply figure I got what I paid for. But at $100, I expected much, much more. Problems Encountered: Unacceptable lag in response. No response at all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not Great I too have had intermittent success with this unit. It works about one third of the time. Sometimes fires from 50-60 feet away, sometimes won't fire from 10 feet. Very inconsistent. Case is very flimsy and it feels like the battery connections in the transmitter could easily be damaged when just installing the battery. I don't expect it to last long.Don't use this when clients are at the shoot, unless they are accustomed to expletives! Problems Encountered: Does not work consistently. Flimsy construction.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have remote!! I was a little disappointed with the wireless shutter release options i had with my Nikon D300s, it seemed most needed to attach to the camera hotshoe & cost alot more than my previous infrared wireless remote. After reading the reviews on this product, I took a chance, ordered it & am so pleased with it. It works every time. Best part is that this remote works thru walls & has amazing reach, I am quite impressed! Looking forward to shooting with this remote for years to come. If you want a consistent remote that doesn't need to hook up to the camera hotshoe, then this remote is a no-brainer. I would buy this product again & again, plus you can't beat the price. Thanks B&H for proving an awesome variety of products at can't beat prices.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk When I took the remote out of the box, it didn't work. The manual is completely unhelpful, but I realized that the A23 battery that comes with the trigger was dead, so straight away I had to purchase a new one. It worked intermittently after that so long as the receiver was facing the trigger and neither were too far away from each other. Sometimes, it wouldn't fire at all. And now, it's completely defunct. I changed the batteries, checked the connection the camera, and nothing. The transmitter appears to be working (light comes on), but nothing in the receiver. I know I won't be buying this one again for a replacement.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Fine I bought this to set up a self-portrait studio at a weddingI was shooting. It worked reliably and I didn't have anyproblems with it. I did worry when i took it out of the boxand it didn't work -- i neglected to remove the plastic fromthe battery, once reading the instructions I had no problemswith it. Lived up to my expectations and was a reliableproduct that was affordable. Expertise: Professional Problems Encountered: None so far. I do wish there was a better way to attach thereceiver to the camera. I ended up velcroing it. Previous Equivalent Item Owned: Nikon Remote Cord Items I Recommend: Velcro

Rated 4 out of 5 by from More than you'd expect I use this product to allow the remote focus and shutter release of my Nikon D200. The size of the unit is great - compact and light. It even comes with a pouch to store the remote and the small receiver (that mounts to your camera). Other units only allow the remote release of the shutter itself. It is a great feature to be able to remotely focus your camera. The Dot Line unit allows has a two stage progression of the remote button. The initial push of the button focuses the camera while a continued push of the button on the remote triggers the release of the shutter. The transmitter (only 3 long) is the size of a vehicle alarm remote. Small, compact and lightweight. It has an antenna that you can extend approx. 5. With the antenna extended the range of the remote is greatly extended and there are security settings you can make on the unit itself (sliding small switches called dip switches) to all but eliminate any interference from other radio controlled devices near by. Great unit, great features, very competitive price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasantly Surprised I'll be honest, I was a little gun shy in ordering thisafter reading a couple reviews but since it was a Father'sDay gift I figured I would try it. While it is not solidsteel construction, it is very usable for under 100.00 Thedistance I have the most success with is within 50 feetwhich is more than I need. I am not doing outdoor naturephotography so I dont know how it would respond. For theadvanced amateur or enthusiast like myself it is a neat toy.I will buy one for my Canon camera as well. Expertise: Advanced Enthusiast Problems Encountered: I have had interference with the unit when I tried to use itat a place that had a wifi network. I could only use itfrom about 6-8 feet effectively.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for, except with this... you get less I never got near 100 feet of range claimed and the systemseems to be very sensitive to the orientation of thereceiver (if it is facing the wrong direction with the cordlooped over the camera you may not get 5 feet). basically itdoes work, but even though it is a radio slave you betterplan on line of sight operation. batteries are expensive(though readily available at radio shack) and the batterycovers on both the transmitter and receiver are not welldesigned and fall off a bit of tape fixes that. was hopingthis would be a cheap substitute for a pocket wizard system(for a remote shutter trigger) but it is not. a compact toolfor non-professional use within 30 feet. dont forget toturn off the receiver or it will drain the battery for you.
