Disappointed with Kirk on this one...

Really disappointed in this add on for my lens plate. I have an older model Kirk Lp49 for my Canon macro lens that does not have a double dovetail, which I wanted for attaching flash brackets. I considered ordering the most recent plate but realized it also did not have the double dovetail design. This seemed like a good soultion. However, upon attaching it I realized that it was very narrow and unable to accept a standard width arca-style attachment. For the price, it should be as wide as the lens plate. I admit that they are Wimberley instead of Kirk brackets, but it seems that the beauty of arca-style is that it is non proprietary and is interchangeable between quality brands. I will likely go with a RRS plate instead.

the item itself is nicely machined. I guess I didn't read all the description and I thought it was arca-swiss-system. It is not. So it's just compatible with the Kirk KC-1F bracket.
