Quick fix for squeak if you have with this arm stand

I love how durable this mic stand feels. It's made out of heavy metal and the springs feel tight! When I first got it, I hated that it squeaked every time you moved it. I found that this was from the base being made from solid plastic and rubbing on the mount for the desk which inside was also plastic. The solution? I sprayed WD-40 into the desk mount arm slot and then put the arm back into the slot. The lubrication fixed the squeak in seconds and I now love this arm stand 100x more! I'm using a RE320 with the auray shock mount.

Now THAT'S a microphone arm!

After suffering the tortures of the condemned with inferior mic arms, I decided to invest in the ProBoom Elite. Wow, what a difference! The other aluminum models I'd used previously have a stamped post that attaches to the desk mount, which will bend and break off after a year or two rendering the arm useless. But this arm attaches to a cast metal post that's designed to last a very long time. The whole system feels very rugged and strong. I use it with an Electro-Voice RE20 and 309 shock mount and it works great.

question

Does this come with any mounting gear?
Asked by: Chels C.
We're afraid not. This is a microphone arm only and it requires an O.C. White mount for complete assembly onto a flat surface or wall.

question

Does anyone now that maximum weight that the ProBoom Elite will support? I'm hoping to mount an Electro-Voice RE20 with 309 shock mount, which weighs almost 2 pounds.

I use this boom for my RE-20 with the shock mount and a mic flag... NOT a problem, works fabulous!
