Royer Labs YC-18 Splitter Cable for SF-24 and SF-12 Microphones

The YC-18 Splitter Cable from Royer works in tandem with either the EXC-18 for the SF-12 mic or the EXC-25 for the SF-24 stereo ribbon mic.

The YC-18 Splitter Cable separates into two 3-conductor cables labeled Upper and Lower (for the upper and lower ribbon elements), which terminate into 3-pin XLR connectors.

Use only genuine Royer cables with your stereo ribbon microphone.

Royer is a highest quality manufacturer! The SF-12 is as much a piece of artwork as it is extraordinary engineering and manufacture. I own several. I wanted additional cables for security so I ordered teo CS18. What arrived were two 18 ft Canare L-4E6S 2205 five conductor cables; Each stereo cable was supplied with a 5 conductor to two 3 pin split made from Mogami 2552 wire. If I were to build the cables myself, or order again I would ask for Mogami for both the long length stereo cable AND mogami for the splitter. A second alternative would be to have Canare for both. The least preferable is two wires (conductors, ground and reusen layer insulations working together. Certainly my criticism here does not apply to Royers incredible microphones. Be aware that these cables are a special order from B&H and CAN NOT BE RETURNED. The item description does not mention the use of dissimilar wires. The surprise comes when you open the box. Certainly the cable will function, but the Royer premium engineering and art work tradition never made it into the box.
