Bracket 1 VISLBR1EX2 Overview

From Manufacturer

The EX2 Wireless Receiver Mount by Bracket 1 provides a practical solution for videographers in need of suitable mounting hardware for wireless microphone receivers. The bracket extends to the right, giving enough clearance for wireless receivers. This bracket can be configured with additional cold shoes and accessory adapters, allowing mounting of multiple wireless receivers, audio/video recorders, shotgun microphones, and other accessories to be mounted simultaneously for shooting handheld or on a tripod.

The EX2 is constructed from lightweight aluminum with stainless steel hardware, and attaches to the tripod mounting hole of your camera while allowing the tripod mounting plate to screw to the bottom of the bracket. This model locates the mounting plate on the right side of the camcorder just outside your hand, for balance when shooting handheld. In addition, the EX2 model was designed specifically for the Sony PMW-EX1, but fits many other camera models as well (see below).

Bracket 1 VISLBR1EX2 Reviews

Frustrating

Couple of problems. I used this with an HVX200 with 2 Lectro Receivers and it completely throws the camera out of balance for hand holding. I ended up putting the receivers in my pocket and running an XLR from there directly to the camera with much better results. Used with a shoulder mount system, it throws that out of balance as well. In fact, I couldn't even set the rig down without it toppling over. And lastly, the threaded mounts are bigger than the standard BEC size. I have BEC boxes and ended up having to cable tie them to the bracket. All in all, pretty frustrating to work as a hand held camera with this rig and Lectro's. Sennheisers are smaller and lighter and would work better...I just can't tolerate their cheap construction and non-TAF connectors.

Makes for a wide package

Fits the camera fine enough. I bought this for using two receivers (Sennheisers) at once. For handheld applications there is PLENTY of room between the bracket and the EX1 grip for a heavily gloved hand. It is probably wider than it needs to be. Personally I would have liked it better a bit closer to the camera body. Maybe as much as an inch. Does the job though and is sturdy.
