I chose the C2 bracket in order to accommodate a Bracket 1 Firestore Recorder Cradle so I could mount a Vitec FS-H200 Pro DTE recorder to Canon XL-series camcorders. Other device cradle solutions mount to the camera body handle, thus preventing access to playback controls. The quality of construction and attachment hardware is outstanding, and the hardware will easily withstand a lot of heavy use. The bracket provides a versatile set of options for mounting a broad range of peripherals, as well as easily allow for secure attachment to a tripod. The bracket design allows for a generous amount of room for handling the camera and easily accessing all controls while also maintaining fairly comfortable balance. I was initially put off a bit by the pricing of both components, but after the first use, I have no regrets.

The Bracket1 mount is on my Sony HVR-HD1000 supporting a Beachtek DXA-2S XLR adapter. The standard mounting holes on the bracket allow for various mounting configurations for wireless receivers and XLR adapters. The Beachtek solution on this bracket required me to drill a small hole to expand one that was not quite large enough for my mounting hardware. No big deal and the XLR adapter mounts perfectly!
