Rain Computers Inc. NVM2 Overview

The Nimbus-VM2 Digital Audio/Video Workstation from Rain Recording is an advanced computer designed with professional audio and video production in mind. The system features ultra-quiet components and cooling so as not to introduce background noise into recordings.

The computer is powered by a 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 CPU and boasts 4GB of RAM, 1.5TB internal hard drive storage, a Blu-ray burner, Gigabit Ethernet, and ATI FireGL V5600 512MB graphics. The computer also features 16 USB 2.0 ports and three FireWire ports for device connectivity.

The quiet system features a SigmaTel STAC9271D 8-channel audio card for the ultimate in sound technology. Windows XP Professional is the operating system that ties all this audio hardware and software together, making it an excellent addition to your studio.

Quiet Design for Audio and Video
The Nimbus features a special quiet design for audio applications where excessive background noise is simply unacceptable. The computer features a silent 680W power supply and the Intel, Zalman, and Rain Quiet Cool systems to help keep things quiet.
Hard Drive Storage with RAID
The computer features a total of 1.5TB of storage spread across three internal drives. This includes an 500GB system drive, and two 500GB media drives in a RAID 0 configuration.
