The AJ-MH800G Microphone Holder is the better alternative to mounting a microphone onto the side of the viewfinder which is common on prosumer and professional ENG cameras. The AJ-MH800G Microphone Holder screws into the body of the camera and features a ball joint which allows the user to adjust the angle and height of the microphone. The AJ-MH800G Microphone Holder works with the both models of the Varicam. The only downside of this unit is, the ball joint and microphone holder is a bit heavy. If it is hit or jarred with force, the ball joint can break or loosen. REgardless, this is vastly superior to viewfinder mounts.
