CobraCrane CC1P overview

  • 1Description

The CobraCrane 1p Single-Arm Camera Jib is a single bar jib arm for small camcorders. This crane offers a 12' reach when matched with a 5' tripod and can sweep the ground for low angle applications. This model comes with a 4' extension kit for an upgrade from the standard CorbraCrane 1. Mounting the crane on an available tripod with a fluid head adds tilt capability.

Note: Tripod and head are sold separately.

Camera Movement
From the ground level the camera can be tilted up over 90 degrees, allowing the user to obtain a great perspective shot. Sweeping vista shots of landscapes, panoramas and sporting events are possible. The over the top shot is also ideal for cooking videos, food marketing videos, and variety of higher perspective shots
Quick Set-Up
This device is easily assembled with a quick no-tool set-up system.
The CobraCrane is solidly constructed from metal and is built to last.
Plus System
The extension kit allows 4' more length above the standard CobraCrane I plus a 6' main section.
Camera Tilt
In basic configuration, the camera platform stays set and does not tilt as you crane up and down. However, mounting the crane on an available, suitable tripod with fluid head allows you to tilt the fluid head and have the cranes camera platform follow the motion of the tilt.

    CobraCrane CC1P reviews

    1p Single-Arm Camera Jib (10') is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from A nice jib at a great price. I used the Cobra Crane I Plus(10Ft.) recently from the Orchestra pit of a major theater in Columbus, Ohio(Veterans memorial) @The Camera I used was a lightweight Cannon Vixia HFs10 AVCHD camera. The crane provided wonderful shots of the performances and was wonderful to use. Using the suggested Bogen 501 HD head makes a difference. I wish the crane had pan ability.. but for the price, I did very well. I recommend it as a cost effective solution

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Bad... It gets the camera up in the air, but after that...good luck. I can't tell you how many times the camera has slipped forward (yes the camera is within the manufactuers stated weight limits)due to the wire/pulley system utilized for pan/tilt operation. Also quality of build is really not that great for the price...I have to be completely honest, some of the components seem downright cheap. I'm a bit disappointed, after owning this piece of equipment for about a year now, I gotta say, I wish I had gone with another manufacturer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for its price! This is a great jib to start out with if you do not have a large budget. I am using this on a loaded HMC40 (another great product for its price). This is great for small video projects outdoors and is small enough for indoor use if you need to. The price is great and it is quick to setup. It can be broken down for transportation and storage which is a plus. Movement up and down is solid once you tweak everything well. Took me a couple days to get everything perfect to my needs. Some not so great things are that it is small and is limited to what it can do. It only has one arm so all the weight will be applied to one side of your tripod head, which slips if you do not tighten your head enough. Loaded with weights and your gear, it can get heavy so make sure your tripod can handle it.
