AmpliVox Sound Systems S505 overview

  • 1Description

The medium oak S505 Executive Sound Column Lectern from AmpliVox Portable Sound Systems is a versatile public address system that offers professional features that are ready to go right out of the box. Featuring a 150W stereo amplifier and twin Jensen speakers, the S505 allows you to address up to 1500 people in a 15,000 square foot space.

Constructed from attractive and durable high-pressure laminate, the S505 stands at 46.5" tall, and is built for a life of professional use. Hidden casters built into the sculpted radius base provide a convenient way to move the system from place to place.

Plenty of connectivity options are provided, such as three mic inputs (dynamic, condenser, and wireless), which can be used simultaneously, ideal for multi-speaker presentations. A line input allows you to connect a music source, and a line output makes it easy to record your presentation. If additional speakers are needed, dual speaker outputs are provided.

The system can operate via 10 D-cell batteries for up to 200 hours. It can also use standard AC wall power or a rechargeable battery battery pack (sold separately). The system has an easy-access power switch with an LED power indicator light. The system comes complete with a cardioid dynamic microphone and mic gooseneck.

    AmpliVox Sound Systems S505 reviews

S505 Executive Sound Column Lectern (Medium Oak) is rated 2.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from it's just okay The thing comes completely disassembled. It wasn't that hard to put together but I wasn't expecting it. And I'm not sure how I missed this but the POWER CABLE IS OPTIONAL! The casters are pretty tiny so moving it around a lot seems risky. Time will tell how durable it is. Also, the fabric covering the speaker is very, very thin. Mine was damaged in transit. However, a steam iron helped flatten it back out. It will stretch or tear very easily. All the connectors are on the face of the amplifier, which makes the cabling ugly and kind of in the way. I finally manufactured a way to get the goose neck mic cable to the amp in such a way to hide it from hanging down in plain view of the audience. Also note that tone adjustments are only for aux in. there is no way to adjust the tone for the podium mic. Seemed like a lot of money for what I got. The online description of this product can be a little confusing and potentially misleading. Read it carefully; I apparently did not.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Overpriced Lecturn Unfortunately I will be using this at our newest outpatient facility during Institute events and I am not satisfied.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Neat and value priced Works as advertised, good for smaller sized audiences without using external speakers/Amplifiers.
