The Formatt FM-600 Kit 1 is a 4x4 matte box system for the Sony PMW-EX1. It features one fixed filter holder and one rotating 360° accommodating a wide range of filter combinations. This kit offers three 4x4 filters and an adapter ring for filter thread adaptation.
Matte Box
The Formatt FM-600 is a 4x4 matte box system for a small DV camera in mind. Adapters allow this matte box to work with lens diameters from 43 to 82mm. It features one fixed filter holder and one rotating 360° accommodating a wide range of filter combinations.
Circular Polarizer
The Formatt 4x4" Circular Schott-Desag B270 Crown Optical Glass Polarizer - Light rays which are reflected become polarized. Polarizing filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colors providing better contrast.
Neutral Density
The Formatt 4x4" HD Neutral Density (ND) 0.6 Schott-Desag B270 Crown Optical Glass filters give more of a neutral grey without the specular effects from the particulate coatings of the current neutral density and neutral density graduated filters.
Soft Effect
Formatt Soft Effects filters produce clean, predictable, repeatable distortion effects for HD (High Definition). This clean distortion is the result of strategically placed optical dots within the filter surface, which creates an even softening with the object and is quite pleasing to the eye.
Adapter
The 77mm adapter allows this unit to work with the Sony PMW-EX1.
