    Pyle Pro PSPVC6 reviews

PSPVC6 6-Channel High Power Speaker Selector is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice piece of equipment I was initially a little hesitant when shopping for a speaker selector switch. So many I've seen are just cheaply made junk (in my opinion) . This Pyle switch is just the opposite ! This thing is a beast. Weighs in at like 12-15 lbs. or so !! I'm a tech guy who does A/V installs and rarely need or use speaker switches but was VERY happy with this unit. I would highly recommend this unit if you need a quality built piece of equipment. My ONLY comment to the manufacturer would be to redesign the wire connectors on the back so that they offer a little deeper notch or flared barrel around where the wires enters the connector so that any possibly exposed bare wire can't short out to the one right next to it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Unit at a Great Price Pyle-Pro PYPSPVC5 6 Channel High Power Speaker SelectorI have just purchased and installed the Pro-Pyle six speaker stereo switch into my home and wanted to take a few minutes to review this switch for those considering such an item. First off let me say that I am no audiophile, and therefore this is not a technical audio sensory review, but one written by a nuts and bolts kind of guy about this product. ..., and its price was the best I could find online.I purchased this unit to work in conjunction with my current home stereo system which has been set up to have speakers located in four locations, soon to be five, and I wanted to be able to have greater control over where the sound was coming from. I was excited about the individual volume controls for each set of speakers, this was the real selling point for me and was the main reason for me replacing my current Radio Shack 4 way speaker switch. The Pyle-Pro was the cheapest speaker selector I could find that incorporated individual speaker volume controls. This is a bargain at this price and makes this unit a real deal.Upon receiving the Pyle-Pro Speaker Switch I quickly went about reading the instructions (yea I am one of those) and got down to setting it up. The instructions were thin, unrevealing and pretty useless. Thankfully you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out how to hook the unit up. The blocks of inputs are of a screw down style in which you back out a small screw that opens the wire connector and then tighten it to hold the wire in place. These work well, but are very close together and designed for lighter gauge wires. This is one of my complaints about this unit, getting the wires set in the back can be tricky, banana plugs and wire terminations are not to be used, but getting the wires in the block with its room restriction is not easy. However that is all that is difficult. After connecting the receiver/amp and the speakers you are done. This is a passive unit and does not plug in itself, but rather passes the power through and out to the speakers. There is a 100 watt maximum power handling capability. The unit works as intended it allows for up to six sets of speakers to be turned on, off and volume adjusted. One note, the receiver volume is still used to regulate the overall volume, but individual volumes can be adjusted from zero or off to as high as the main volume is set. A minor complaint about the Pyle-Pro's volume adjustments is that the knob's are click style allowing for six levels of volume, they are not smooth and gradual so I find that some levels are too low or high and that has to be adjusted via the main receiver volume adjustment. Overall I am pleased with the Pyle-Pro Speaker Selector as it works exceptionally well and allows a great deal of flexibility to your home audio experience at a price that can't be beat. I would recommend it to anyone looking to add more speakers and get more out of their home stereo system.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does what it says I have 3 speaker sets (zones) around the house so I can enjoy my hi end stereo and music outside on the patio, in the garage , ect. The external zones were connected to a splitter by MONSTER CABLE. My problem was that I could not listen to A and B speakers without overly BLASTING the A's so I could get enouph volume out of the B's.I thought having volume controles on my splitter would solve that, but it didn't. Same problem, only very slightly better. It does do every thing they claim and I have the ability to expand 2 more zones. I found it very easy to setup and it's great looking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it says it will do I was afraid that when we connected the system that when we turned the volume way down in one zone that it would raise the volume significantly in the other zones. That has not been the case and we are pleased with the unit. The quality is good and the setup was easy. The ordering process from B&H was fast and efficient.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Would change only 1 thing This is a unit I would steer people towards. As with anything-research and decide what works for you. This item works as advertised-multi speakers on different chnls. Directions and Set up was easy.I had to re-adjust settings on the speakers(base, treb.)after set up.The only thing I would change on this unit and I read of this on another review is the volume control dials have a click type adjustment as opposed to a smooth non click transition type dial.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product If your inexperienced as i the selector isn't intimidating when it comes to installation. The speaker connections are made very simply and the independent channel selection operate without cross signaling. Very good product very reasonable price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed This is exactly what I was looking for to control the entire speaker system in and out of the house. Being able to control each speaker set with it's own seperate volume control is a big plus. Very easy to use and appears to be solidly made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great selector - needs its own shelf I am using this to run outdoor speakers an three sides of the house and a set in the master bathroom. It processes the sound pumped through my Onkyo receiver and 150W Amp beautifully!
