The 16x9 Cine Lock Quick Release Mounting Device consists of two parts that each attach to separate pieces of equipment and then lock into one another, and at the slide of a pin they unlock and separate from each other. Thus they provide quick-release functionality between cameras and accessories, and can be used with most any 1/4" or 3/8" gear.

The two parts are a burgundy wedge and a gray plate. They each attach onto a piece of equipment regardless of whether the equipment has a stud or a screw-hole as its mounting option. Both parts have to them two different-sized screw-holes. Via one of the two, each part either screws onto a stud, or -- by means of one of three screws that come included with the Cine Lock -- gets fastened to a screw-hole of a piece of equipment. The screw-holes of the wedge and plate are of 1/4" and 3/8" sizes, and the included screws are of the same sizes.

Provides quick-release functionality with most any 1/4" or 3/8" equipment.
Screws onto a stud or gets fastened into a screw-hole by means of included screws.
Consists of two components. One slides and locks into the other, and a slide of a pin unlocks them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent I normally don't write reviews, but I almost returned this item thiking I couldn't mount it tight enough but if you buy it as a kit it comes with a 1/4 stud (set screw) that can be used instead of trying to tighten using the standard screw. It is very simple, but easy for some to mount wrong. This is a great way of quickly changing out recorders / monitors / led lights to a single hotshoe or base. The reviews which say it only mounts loose or to flip it upside down to get it to mount correctly are WRONG. It just takes a little common sense to use the correct approach on the base and the quick release.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The lesser of all evils $ for a bracket this size makes me want to cry - especially after shelling out $4k for an Odyssey 7Q and a couple batteries, firmwares, etc...It's small, doesn't weigh down the camera rig linking the 7Q to my FS700, and locks together securely. Still, the screw going into the back of the 7Q on one side of the thing doesn't have any kind of lock mechanism, and sometimes the monitor will swing itself counter-clockwise into a loosened position. It makes my heart drop a little bit each time.Still, it appears to be the best option there is for a quick mount, which is what we need.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gets the job done, but not perfect I use this lock to attach my alphatron monitor to both my steadicam rig and shoulder rig. For that purpose it works (as you would expect it to with the price!), I am able to switch between the two quickly and easily. My only drawback is these can be difficult to articulate into the correct angle tightly. For instance, I have to use a variety of washers and extra screws to attach my monitor so it wont 'wiggle' or shift to a different position while shooting. While this isnt a huge problem and there is a work around, I wish (for this price) it would have some sort of articulating arm mechanic built in to allow me to position/reposition, then tighten down.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Didn't realize how much I needed these These are amazing, well built, and designed pretty well. I have them mounted to my steadicam and to my shoulder rig so that I can easily use my monitor on both without much effort. My only gripe is that the one bottowm piece only has one screw hole, so it has a tendency to come loose if I twist the monitor much. I'm generally pretty careful to keep it tight though so it's not a big problem. these things are expensive for what they are (or so I thought when I was a poor college student wondering why anyone would ever buy these) but they're worth the investment and they should last a very very long time and be very useful across all your equiptment.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Confused about why these get 5 stars! I bought two of these based on the high reviews.I share the sentiment of some of the negative reviews here. I was using this with a Zacuto Z-American arm and a small-HD monitor. It's possible to get it to work properly in terms of screw alignment, but it's loose. I mean, both of them, and there's really no fix. It's so loose, it shakes when the camera is behind handheld, affecting image. Absolutely flawed design.I would recommend this unless you're buying it for the thrill of spending money, because once you actually try to use the product, you'll regret spending $ on a couple of useless pieces of metal.I love 16x9 products, and their baseplates are amazing. But this product is a complete and total failure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick Release for Your Accessories Often working as a one man band, there are many aspects that require my attention. I am always looking for ways to simplify tasks, and focus on what matters. This item is a lightweight timesaver, that gives me an edge setting up and tearing down modular DSLR / DV rigs. I especially like using these in conjuction with articulating arms made by 16x9 Inc. Before owning this quick release, I had to screw the arm onto my rig, then carefully screw the accessory onto the arm. I was always concerned that I would crossthread an accessory's screw receiver, or drop an expensive item. Now I just screw the arm into the accessory, then slide and lock the other end of the arm right onto my rig. On a side note, I find the 5 arms work best with displays, and the longer arms are best for mounting lights. This item comes with various screws, washers, and adapters to make it work in every situation I've ever needed. This is my new standard for mounting accessories, and I will be buying more of these quick release mounts in future. They are a bit pricey, but what isn't in this industry. Plus, your clients will be impressed at how effortlessly you can modify your rig, and get to the real work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not Cheap But Works Perfect... I use one to attach a medium Noga Cine arm to the handle of my Canon C100 MkII. Light weight, well crafted and most importantly, does precisely what it's made to do. Attach and detach with ease. Holds tight. Expensive? Maybe, but think about how much you paid for the two items you're going to attach and you decide. As for me, I'll be ordering a couple more.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would be great if it worked. It doesn't Tried using this with a Marshall LCD monitor, but there was no way of locking it down so the monitor wouldn't twist. I tried using it in reverse as suggested by others here, but that seemed awkward as well. I think this thing could be perfected by adding an anti-twist protrusion and some alternate mounting methods, but right now I can't recommend it, especially at that price. Would be nice if it came with mounting instructions/suggestions or a link to same.
