The Konus Opal Microscope offers a simple straight-through 20x optical path for low-power stereoscopic observation of three-dimensional and flat objects. Binocular microscopes give a relaxed view to the observer, as both of their eyes remain open and one concentrates upon the sample instead of upon squinting. An illusion of three dimensionality is created in the observer's mind, and most will perceive the specimen to be brighter than if using a standard monocular microscope.
The Opal has a simple clip stage and one focusing gear, because at 20x power that's entirely sufficient for the task. An optional digiscoping adapter or video adapter allows simultaneous image capture or display to a computer screen or digital camera.
Konus makes the Opal functional in any voltage regulation worldwide, and the instruction booklet provides descriptions in multiple languages.
