Acrylic Dry Erase Clapboard with Color Sticks (7x7.25") is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 49.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cost effective Clapboard I use this when shooting videos for my church. When working with church members, they usually require many, many takes. Using the clapboard helps me in the video editing find the good takes and cut out the bad ones. I like that the unit is lightweight and pretty sturdy for the price. Although, I wished that the white was less translucent. I use the back side to set the white balance on my Canon XL2 and because it lets some of what is behind it bleed thru, it doesn't let me set it to a true white. Overall, I'm happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classy The sticks are fatter from front to back than they look in the illustrations. This is a good working unit in a small size that does add class to your video making and is practical for synching sound like has been done for ages. The write on area is also nice for remembering to put the critical notes right where they belong, recorded on the video itself. It fits well into the matching Porta Brace carry bag. I found some stubby dry erase markers that had erasers on the top that are nice. Even the color blocks are useful. My main interest was a way to synchronize sound recorded on another device with video and also match up video streams shot with several cameras where all of them could see the same Clapboard mark.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Perfect For the price this slate works perfect. I used Expo Click markers as suggested by another review and it wipes right off. The Expo Clicks are great to just put in your pocket without losing your cap too. Also can use the Expo2. Don't use the regular Expo markers as they have a different ink. Some people don't understand the use of the slate being semi-transparent. It allows for light to shine through the slate so the camera can pick up what is on the slate better. This feature became apparent on my last short I used with this slate. I also believe color on the sticks are for matching shots together for color. No complaints here. It feels sturdy enough for what it does and works perfect for me. Later I will get a bigger slate but this works for now.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice slate for small productions We bought this for a class film project in which we used DSLRs for all video and external mics for sound. This slate is a bit small to put far from the camera, but for close-ups or if you can hold it nearby it does great. It feels solid, makes a pleasing clap! that doesn't bounce. Others have said the screws for the clapper get loose, but ours has not yet. Some dry erase markers do not write on it well, but that's the case with whiteboards too. We found that Expo Dry Erase Markers showed up dark and bold and cleaned off completely.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Breaks after repeated use Used this clapper on a feature shoot for syncing several dslrs (3 cam shoot). By the end of production, the screws had fallen out the back, and the magnetic grip had crumbled. Was great while it worked, why I'm not giving 1 star.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Quick Dumbslate Purchased this when a production was unable to assure there was going to be a slate on set. Its the perfect size for a quick slate here and there, but a little small if you are not in a pinch or dealing with a high quality camera. It gets the job done and can easily fit in my run&gun location package, which is really all I was looking for. The magnet works well with one handed slating and there is enough space to write in/tape up the pertinent information for shots.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Good I've had it for a few weeks now and it works fine. It has made it easy for me to precisely synchronize audio to video. As others have complained, mine too had loose nuts right out of the package. I simply applied a drop of Loctite thread lock to the threads and solved that problem once and for all. Since that is something the manufacturer could and should have done in the first place for less than a penny, I'm giving a rating of 4, otherwise, I'd have made it a 5.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid quality I wasn't sure I'd like the compact design, but it was more than sufficient for the info I wrote on it and easy to manage with one hand. We sometimes travel for shoots, so the small size will be ideal for that. The quality is solid and a good value at the price. I bought a larger clapboard from another vendor and it was way inferior. I need to get a proper eraser. I used wet erase markers and a wetnap/my fingers to erase it. I need a process that's quicker.
