use it as a sledgehammer if you don't need a mic

The output on this dynamic mic is quite low and, I think, best used for live performance applications. For field recording, I can't use it, as I'd planned. Also, it's sturdy aka too heavy to hand hold for even a fairly short period; requiring a fishpole, which isn't always in the kit.
