ARRI T1 overview

  • 1Description

The ARRI T1 Location Fresnel is an updated version of the Compact Series of Location Fresnels. Combining research and feedback from around the world and advances in technology, ARRI has designed a series of six Fresnels with over 30 improvements for studio and location lighting. The True Blue Series has a reduced weight, compact size, and maximum light output.

ARRI's cross-cooling system reduces lamp housing temperature by 25% and lens temperature by 17%. With special air channels built into the aluminum extrusion, a constant stream of air passes around the Fresnel lens and into the lamp head regardless of the tilt angle.

When fitted with a 1000-watt bulb (available separately) this fixture will provide a 2.8' (0.9 m) diameter beam of 409 fc from a distance of 20' (6.1 m) at full spot. At full flood (same distance), it will provide a 48 fc, 20.4' (6.2 m) diameter beam.

Stronger, Lighter
  • Pressure die cast and extruded aluminum components
  • Many components offer greater strength and resistance to corrosion
  • Redesigned Stirrup
  • Stirrup mounting slides and can be adjusted to counterbalance all accessories
  • Soft contour makes the Fresnel comfortable to carry
  • The stainless steel friction disc locks securely even when large front-mounted accessories are being used
  • Easy Maintenance
  • Routine maintenance and repair are easier with fast, simple access to all internal components
  • Cleaning is almost effortless with smooth lamp housing surfaces
  • Safe
  • Meets IP23 standard and is suitable for indoor or outdoor use providing a degree of protection against falling rain (up to a 60° angle from vertical)
  • CE rated and independently assessed TUV certification
  • Laser-cut hexagonal safety mesh lets out more light and is tough enough to withstand location abuse

    ARRI T1 reviews

1000W T1 Location Fresnel with Stand Mount (120-240 VAC) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Tool For Photography/Videography I wanted to extend my lighting arsenal with fresnel lighting. The Arri T1 was perfect for creating that beautiful hard light that they are known for. They won't disappoint you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Arri never fails Arri's Fresnel Lights have proven year after year to be a durable location and studio light solution. I've used these outside, in the cold and rain and have never had a problem. T he handles stay cool so you can adjust without gloves. Paired with an Arri 4-leaf barndoor, you have complete control over the shape of the light. Using the included focusing dial, you can spread or spot the light as you see fit. I use this for cinematography and it gives me great results every time!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile, Quality, Built to Last I use multiple T1's along with other Arri lights and the T1's are workhorse fresnels. Yes, Arri costs, however, you get what you pay for and this is no exception. The water resistance is nice for location if it rains suddenly. Very well made. Make sure you or your lighting grips wear leather gloves when handling as they run hot. Buy good stands and bag them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Enormous In theory this is a great powerhouse of a light. I own an Arri kit (One 650, One 300, Two 150s) and these lights have been through a lot and continue to be dependable. I was originally going to go with a small 1K light from another brand, but I figured why not keep it all Arri...but once that cardboard box pulled up to my house I knew I had made a tremendous mistake--or it was the new loveseat I ordered. The light is gargantuan. It's also heavy. That's not necessarily a bad thing-if that's what you're in to, but I need something I can travel with and this light just isn't going to cut it. So if you're like me and you're looking for a powerful 1K light that you can travel with, I recommend to keep looking. Cheers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great re-design Purchased this to match our other 1K. Love the new lock down handle, that can be re-positioned. Front and back focus control is a plus. Case design seems to vent heat better the the previous model. Had to modify our Arri case slightly to fit the new design, but it fits.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well-made, Lightweight, all-around GREAT I purchased this light in order to enable my friends and I the luxury of shooting on-location with cheap professional lighting, and by Thor's hammer, this is a great light. Unlike the Arri Pluses, changing the bulb is relatively simpler with a latch that opens the front encasement; My first attempt to change the bulb of my 650w/300w was an ordeal of epic proportions as I had to use several screw bits and put the lights back together with delicate precision (which I don't have). The tension-hinge control is another great feature, BUT I don't see anyway of sliding the hinge up and down the light, like I would on my 650w/300w: a method of counterbalancing any accessories that are attached to the light. Perhaps this may not be an issue considering the addition of the tension-hinge (with a quick release button!). Overall I would recommend this product as it'll last you many years, with only the occasional maintenance and bulb replacement, all which are moderately cheap and affordable, making the light pretty much pay for itself in the long run.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The redoubtable Arri You want quality lights - get Arri. It's a simple light but the 1K punch through a Fresnel is great. Get the bulb and look in to a case for it. If not be prepared to house it somewhere. I use a beefy stand like a low riser or high riser Matthews. You definitely need the barndoors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Fixture Awesome upgrades from the old Arri 1000w. Great, tough light. Everything is adjustable and changing bulbs is crazy easy. Should last a lifetime.
