ARRI T2 Overview

The ARRI T2 Location Fresnel is one in a series that represents an evolution of the Studio and Location fixtures that have been popular workhorses for over two decades. Following extensive research and feedback from lighting professionals around the world, combined with advances in technology, ARRI has designed a series of six lampheads with over 30 improvements for studio and location lighting. With reduced weight, compact size, and maximum light output, ARRI T series Fresnels set a standard for professional lighting equipment.

ARRI's cross-cooling system reduces lamp housing temperature by 25% and lens temperature by 17%. With special air channels built into the aluminum extrusion, a constant stream of air passes around the Fresnel lens and into the lamphead regardless of the tilt angle.

When fitted with a 2000-watt bulb (available separately), this fixture will provide a 4.6' (1.4 m) diameter beam of 470 fc from a distance of 19.8' (6 m) at full spot.

Pole Operated
Tilt, pan, and focus are adjusted by you from the safety of the studio floor with an optional pole
Stronger, Lighter
  • Pressure die cast and extruded aluminum components have reduced the overall weight of T series fixtures without any sacrifice in quality or durability
  • Many components now offer greater strength and resistance to corrosion
  • Stegmaier Connector
  • Patent-pending connector and strain relief rotate to allow the cable orientation to be quickly adjusted for hanging or stand mounting
  • Improved (optional) barndoors are stronger, and less susceptible to bending
  • New hinge design maintains constant tension and may be easily adjusted
  • Redesigned Stirrup
  • Stirrup mounting slides and can be adjusted to counterbalance all accessories
  • Extruded aluminum is stronger, lighter and less bulky but still permits full fixture rotation
  • Soft contour makes it comfortable to carry
  • The stainless steel friction disc locks the lamphead securely even with the largest Chimera or other accessories
  • Easy Maintenance
  • Routine maintenance and repair are easier with fast, simple access to all internal components
  • Cleaning is made effortless with smooth lamp housing surfaces
  • Safe
  • Meets IP23 standard; suitable for indoor or outdoor use providing a degree of protection against falling rain (up to a 60° angle from vertical)
  • CE declaration and independently assessed TUV certification
  • The laser cut hexagonal safety mesh maximizes light transmission and is tough enough to withstand location abuse

    Bought 2x T2’s with 2x CYX Lamp (2000W / 120V) ...

Bought 2x T2’s with 2x CYX Lamp (2000W / 120V) globes. Used on Australian house power. The globes blew straight away. My wiring had multiple continuity checks with different multimeters. All fine. No Earth leakage. Was this because the globe is 120V and Australian globes are 240? Or is there another error? I’m asking before another test. Don’t want to waste money on another globe. Thanks

A 120V lamp will not work with 240V power. You will need to purchase an FKK CP41 Lamp (2000W 240V). Please follow the link below leading you to my top recommendation. https://bhpho.to/2OwOYSx

    question

Can this light be safely mounted on a truss system?
    Asked by: Jay
This light can be safely mounted on a truss system with a C-clamp like the Avenger C210 Baby Pipe Clamp, B&H # AVC210. Please see the image below for reference.

    question

I apologize for double posting, but I have a few other questions about this product that I forgot to ask. That is, what is the speed ring diameter for this light? How many accessories can it hold simultaneously? (Scrims, filter frames, barn-doors, etc). How far from the light should I place my filters to avoid over-heating / setting them on fire? Also, regarding my first question: Can this light be safely mounted on a truss system? , I meant mounting it on a truss system using the baby receiver and a super clamp with a 5/8 baby pin.
    Asked by: Jay
The speed ring diameter for this Arri light is 9 -5/8. An example of such is the Chimera Modular Speed Ring for ARRI M8 and Zylight F8 B&H # CH9213OP, which can be used the the Octaplus and Video Pro Plus Softboxes also from Chimera. In terms of holding scrims, the T2 offers adjustable accessory brackets to allow you to hold either 2 or 4 scrims at a time. If using scrims with a gel holder, normally the gel holder should be placed in front of the scrims. As for hanging this light with a Super Clamp and a 5/8 baby pin, that would be possible if using a Manfrotto Super Clamp, B&H # MA035RL which has a maximum load capacity is 33.1 lbs. Please see the images below for reference.

    question

What's the Kelvin temperature of this?
    Asked by: Ben B.
The ARRI T2 Location Fresnel light fixture is a tungsten light fixture. As the unit uses tungsten lamps, the color temperature would be 3,200K. The lamp/bulb is not included with the fixture purchase, and must be purchased separately. The compatible lamps we carry are listed under the Lamps section under the Accessories tab on our website. The ARRI CYX 2000W 120V Lamp, B&H # ARCYX, or the Sylvania / Osram CYX (2000W/120V) Lamp, B&H # SYCYX, would be good options for your usage needs.

I live in Australia. Can the T2 be used with a 10 ...

I live in Australia. Can the T2 be used with a 10 amp plug and on a household circuit? Would this be ideal? Seeing as a 2K Blondie or M18 work fine on household circuits here. Thanks
    Asked by: Daniel
Using Ohms law, the amperage draw for the T2 (2000W) fixture at 120V is approximately 16.6 amps. For 220V it would be approximately 9 amps. I believe Australia is a 220V country therefore it would be right on the edge with a 10 amp receptacle.

    question

I know the max for household outlets is 2000w. Does that mean I can only use one 2kw light at a time, or just one per outlet?
    Asked by: Anonymous
It can be used in a household outlet, but there are a lot of restrictions. If it is a new home, with modern 20Amp circuits, which can support 2500Watts, and there are large lower draw sources already in use on the circuit, then this light will work fine. A kitchen or bathroom general have dedicated circuits and are required by code to be upgraded if any remodeling takes place on the house, so it’s generally good to assume these outlets are 20Amps (unplug microwaves, etc). Also, outlets to the left and right of the kitchen are supposed to be on separate circuits. 20Amp outlets hv a vertical & horizontal slit on the neutral/left slit, which is easy to identify, but often home owners/ non-electricians replace outlets, so it’s not always a guarantee. Use a multimeter to test the outlet to confirm. You can also get an adapter cable that converts a 30Amp dryer outlet to bates/ lunch box for clean 20Amp power for this 2k Arri light.
