Tiffen 44CGN12S Overview

  • 1Description

The Tiffen 4 x 4" Soft Edge Graduated 1.2 ND Filter is a graduated neutral density filter that helps to specifically darken skies and other bright areas of the image. The filter is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a soft-edged line of transition between the density and clear areas. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and the 1.2 density provides a 4 stop reduction in light from entering the lens.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. This filter measures 4 x 4" / 101.6 x 101.6mm.

Soft-edged 1.2 ND graduated filter for darkening skies and other bright areas of the image.
Provides a 4 stop reduction in light in selective areas.
Neutral density filters do not affect the overall coloration of the image.

    Tiffen 44CGN12S Reviews

    4 x 4" Soft Edge Graduated 1.2 ND Filter is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good, but depends on your needs Well, I was not really sure if I needed this one, cause more and more video camera already have ND filter integrated to it. I'm using Sony DSR-PD 170 and HVR-Z7U, that both have different ND filter integrated to it. But this filter is rarely useful in my case, except when I was shooting in the Middle East under great sun ! For me, here in Canada, well, I'm not really using it, I preffer use the ND filter that is install in the camera.
