10.1 Megapixel Resolution
The CCD Image sensor of the Exilim EX-Z300 supplies a rich 10.1 million pixels of full color brilliance and detail. Such high resolution photos give you the advantage that you can print them out in excellent quality or edit them on the computer. This means that enlargement of details and poster size photos are possible.
4x Wide-angle Zoom Lens
Though the EX-Z300 is as slim as your little finger, yet it features a versatile 4x wide-angle optical zoom lens so you can capture the details of your scene or get a tight close up. The wide-angle capability also makes it simple to capture large groups of people in tight spaces, get beautiful scenery shot and is useful for taking pictures of grand architecture or for use in real estate images.
Mechanical Image Stabilizer
The Mechanical Image Stabilizer system that is incorporated into the EX-Z300 uses a CCD-Shift mechanism to compensate for subtle camera movement that can lead to blurred images. It also allows users to shoot handheld shots under low light that would normally be impossible to get without image softening blur.
3.0" Wide-Screen Display
The 3.0-inch wide-screen TFT color display of the EX-Z300 is so large and wide that it takes up almost the entire rear side of the camera, and provides a clear view of your images and video clips.
Best Shot Scene Modes
The cameras Best Shot scene modes enable selection of the appropriate camera setting for still photos via an easy to understand sample image menu, so you'll be able to take beautiful pictures, regardless of the shooting situation or your particular photography expertise. Simply select the sample scene that resembles the type of image you are trying to record and the camera is configured automatically with the applicable recording mode, Auto Focus setting, and more.
Easy Mode
The Easy Mode simplifies the camera settings to three easy menus (image size, flash and self-timer). With Easy Mode, the camera is set to take great photos in every situation without having to check presets and prevents users from accidentally using an inappropriate setting or making a wrong adjustment.
Face Detection System
The Face Detection system ensures that, once the focus locks on to a person's face, it will stay sharp and maintain the right exposure, even if the person moves; thereby making it much easier to capture beautiful portraits.
Makeup Function
Ensure that all of your portraits look their best with the innovative Makeup function. This function takes advantage of the cameras advanced processing engine to smooth skin and soften facial shadows people's faces caused by harsh sunlight.
Enhanced Responsiveness
Once powered on, the camera is ready to take pictures in approximately 2 seconds, and after the shutter is snapped, pictures are taken almost instantly, with only 0.008 second release time lag. The "Direct On" buttons allow quick startup of both shooting and viewing modes, and the camera also has High-speed image viewing at approximately 0.1 seconds intervals.
Multi-motion Mode
Just as if multi-exposure had been used, the EX-Z300 can take a series of shots of a moving subject and combine them in a single photo (image size must be set to 3 megapixels).
Movie Mode with HD Movie function
The EX-Z300 is able to record HD movies with an image size of 1280 by 720 pixels or broadcast quality movies with sound using the H.264 video standard, which utilizes the AAC audio codec widely used in Apple's iPod and other mobile devices, and can continue recording at lower resolution as long as there is memory available. The camera can also produce an audio snapshot (with audio recorded at the same time as the image or added later), and is equipped with a Voice Recorder feature.
YouTube Capture Mode
The YouTube capture mode records high quality video with higher compression for fast uploading and includes an exclusive software application that makes it seamless to upload movies to YouTube in as few as two steps. This technology will also allow users to upload multiple videos at once, making it easier than ever before to share original content online.
Built-in and Expandable Memory
The EX-Z300 has 38.5 MB of internal memory so you can start shooting immediately. The storage capacity can also be greatly expanded with a Secure Digital (SD), Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) or MultiMediaCard (MMC), so you can save large numbers of photos and record movies in excess of an hour or more in duration.
Super-Life Battery
The EX-Z300 is extremely efficient in its power usage and includes a high capacity NP-40 Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery which provides so much power, that the camera is ready for use at that decisive moment and takes over 300 shots on a full charge.
Direct Print Capable
The camera supports PictBridge Direct printing so you can print out beautiful images with out the need of a computer. Just connect the camera to a PictBrige compatible printer and print your favorite pictures the way you want them - it is that easy.
