Are the listed dimensions for the cork quick-release adapter or the larger mounting base?

The dimensions listed are for the larger mounting base. Cork dimensions alone are 7/8" x 1 1/8". I hope this helps.

question

Will this work with the Slik 960-G-QL plastic mount?
Asked by: Anonymous
This will attach to the original quick release plate, but it is NOT a substitute for the 960G-QL's original quick release plate.

question

Anyone know if a D-ring screw will work on the underside of the mounting plate to connect to the camera and not interfere with it seating on the DQ-10 capture plate It seems a common concern of this mounting plate is one needs a screwdriver or coin to tighten it down...a D-ring screw seems like a simple answer unless it is too thick and interferes with the capture plate? If the D-ring screws have different thicknesses and lengths, can a recommend one that will work with this system.
Asked by: Timothy H.
Timothy, despite D-ring possibly adding cost, consider the intended use of that style...; frequent attachment. Normally, a quick-disconnect remains attached so removal is not common. But most importantly, the cork pad is not that large nor is it that skid-resistant. I feel that in order for the plate to remain firmly positioned onto a camera (or other product), THE TORQUE OF A SCREWDRIVER OR LARGE COIN IS RATHER VALUABLE. Making a D-ring large enough to deliver torque yet small enough to fit the space would likely prompt customer dissatisfaction. Ed
