The Cavalry CyClone 4-Bay External Drive Enclosure from Aluratek is an external enclosure for 3.5" SATA hard disks. It features four drive bays and an integrated RAID controller. The enclosure features an eSATA port for connection to a computer.
RAID Data Protection
The array can be configured in RAID 0, RAID 1, and RAID 5 configurations. RAID 0 provides the fastest access to your data and full storage capacity, but offers no protection in the event of an internal disk failure. RAID 1 mirrors all the data, cutting the storage capacity in half, but ensuring that data will be intact if a drive fails. RAID 5 gives you 75% of the total capacity by using space to store parity data. If an internal drive fails, you can rebuild the data using the parity data once a new drive is installed.
eSATA Interface
The enclosure can connect to a computer via eSATA. This interface is ideal for applications that require high data throughput performance.
Simple Installation
Simply connect the power cable and the data cable of the drive to the ports inside the enclosure. The drive is then ready to be used as a plug and play device.
