Savage 53 Pecan Overview

Photograph people and products against a smooth, uncluttered background with this 26" x 36' roll of #53 Pecan Widetone Seamless Background Paper from Savage. To facilitate even lighting, the surface of the paper is non-reflective and has a fine-tooth finish. In addition to photography, the paper may be used for events, decorations, banners, and more.

The paper density is 100 pounds, or 145 gsm, an easy-to-handle resilient thickness of 7.6 mil, and comes wound on a core with a 2.125" interior diameter. A plastic sleeve protects the roll in transit and can be saved to provide continued protection when the paper is not in use. The paper should be stored vertically to reduce the possibility of warping and other damage. Photographers often use clamps to secure the paper to a backdrop stand as well as tape to secure the paper to the floor if rolled out for full-body shots. The paper is acid-free and 100% recyclable.

Due to the manufacturing process, it's not uncommon for sizes to fluctuate slightly. In most cases the amount of fluctuation won't matter.

These look amazing as backdrops. They also work well to cut and wrap things to edit out or fill later. Savage always has amazing color consistency.

It's good quality back ground paper. Egg Nog is a nice change from white and can be used as a beach sand floor. Size perfect for 1/6 scale photographs. It arrived quickly. What else can I say?

What's the difference between super white and ...

What's the difference between super white and pure white? Which one is whiter? Needed for product shots for a website.
Asked by: Risa
According to Savage Universal, Savage Seamless Paper has three different white shades available: #01 Super White, #66 Pure White and #50 White. Super White contains UV brighteners and is popularly used for product photography. Choose Super White to easily achieve an absolute white color using backlights. Pure White is a great all-around white with a neutral tone. This color is great for anything from headshots and portraits to product photos. Works well with or without backlights. White is a much warmer white tone compared to Super White and Pure White, and tends to complement skin tones well. This is ideal for headshots or portraits where absolute white is not needed as it delivers more of an “off-white” look.

question

Is this paper 26 or is it 1/2 of a 53 roll? Does it vary between 26 and 27 or even more? I'm building a shooting table and need to know how wide to make the roller for the paper while keeping it to the minimum width.
Asked by: john a.
The roll of paper is exactly 26 . Sometimes the paper tube will come out a bit on the edges, but the actual paper width is 26 .
