IOGEAR GVE200 overview

  • 1Description

The Iogear GVE200 DVI-D Over CAT5e/6 Cable Extender System uses one inexpensive and common CAT5e (or CAT6) network cable to connect the signal sender and receiver over extended distances. Using this system allows for use of DVI components over a longer range than usually possible with DVI cables.

This system will carry a 1080i signal over a range of 100'. Both the sender and receiver are self-powered in-line, and don't require any external power supplies. They are compact, lightweight, and use a durable shell to house the hardware.

Supported distance and resolution are subject to quality of cables and devices
Power LED and active signal LED for easy monitoring and troubleshooting
RoHS compliant

    IOGEAR GVE200 reviews

GVE200 DVI-D Extender System, Over CAT5e/6 Cable is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works with 3/4 aspect monitors, not HD I bought this extender with the hope of connecting one of my 20 Apple Cinema Displays to a Mac Mini Server but the extender doesn't work with the Cinema Display. I was able to use the extender with an older 19 4/3 aspect ratio monitor @ 1280x1024 resolution but that's not what I wanted. If you want a DVI extender to use with an HD monitor, look elsewhere as the GVE200 is not up to the job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This does just what is supposed to do I had another brand but had trouble from the beginning. Sometimes it would just quit for no reason and a reboot would get it going again. Finally nothing. The gve200 worked out of the box without and downloads or anything. Hasn't missed a moment even during a thunderstorm the other night . JUST PLAIN GREAT

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unfortunately these didn't work. Tried these in a theatre situation, started with a 50' run, no signal, 25 feet, same thing - finally we went directly in with a 5' run and still no image. It would have been a handy tool, but I had to go out and buy regualr cables.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked great! with one suggestion... At first I originally tried a CAT5 cable to send my signal approximately 50 feet and the signal was extremely noisy. Once I did some research and tried a CAT 6 cable, it worked great.
