This should be a great product, in the sense that it solves a serious problem... When you use lights that take mogul base halogen light bulbs, the bulbs are expensive, large, easy to break, and have a tendancy to hum/buzz fairly loudly when dimmed. This adapter allows you to use $ (vs. $-$) halogen 2-pin lamps for movie lights, which are less prone to humming when dimmed. I own several Photoflex Starlite QL units and a custom built mogul base unit. The Chimera adapter does NOT fit in the Photoflex Starlite unit, which seems to be the fault of the Photoflex. It does fit in my custom rig and I assume works in Chimera units. I've used similar adapters for medium-base sockets and they work well, but for limited time... they burn out. This seems better made, so hopefully is quite good for mogul sockets other than Photoflex.
