The Tiffen 67mm Neutral Density 0.9 Filter is a solid ND filter with an 8x filter factor that provides a 3 stop exposure reduction. Its 0.9 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting to precision metal rings.

0.9 neutral density filter darkens the image, allowing you to photograph with a longer shutter speed or wider aperture than normally required.
Providing a 3 stop exposure reduction, this filter allows you to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.
Filter does not affect coloration of the image and is ideal for use with other filters.

67mm Neutral Density 0.9 Filter is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 45.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Functions as promised Purchased this filter along with a 0.6 ND filter. I use them stacked to get five stops of difference, for star trails and moving water at the beach. I am careful to not shoot in the direction of the sun so I have no comment about flaring. The filter functions as promised and the threads on the metal housing (frame) seem to be cut very nicely, so no issues there. I do notice a slight color shift but what can you expect for the price? I shoot *.RAW so correcting the small color shift is not a real issue. However JPEG shooters may was to consider one of the expensive options as color correction would be more of a challenge. For the small price I am very happy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Inexpensive but tinted It's hard to hold too many faults against what is among the least expensive 3-stop filters. The big caveat is always 'for the price.' This does darken the image by around 3 stops, but it is not fantastically sharp and it adds a magenta cast to the image. If you need a cheap or first ND filter or do not expect to print very large then this is a good option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Neutral Density I use my neutral density filter for those shots where I just can't get a good exposure, such as blurring action. This filter lets me get the shutter speed I want without over or under exposing my film. Should work well with digital too. My cameras use 52, 62 and 67mm filters. I bought the 67mm and a few adaptors so I can use it with all my cameras.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just what I needed I needed a faster sync-speed than 1/200s for daytime shots with external flash. Now, I could either buy a used Nikon D70s with a cool 1/500s sync-speed or I could cheaply darken the scene using this filter. A darker scene allows me to open up the aperture more. And converts my previously-inadequate 1/200s sync-speed into a useful one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed. I've been looking for one of these to slow down waterfalls and rivers on bright days. Finally broke down. This Tiffen filter does exactly what I need it to without adversely affecting my image. I've even stacked a slim polarizer on top of it with no obvious problems.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from quality ND I primarily shoot video with the Canon 7D and I have the .9 ND mounted on my 17-85mm. i love this ND. Saves me from blowing out the background when I shoot outdoor weddings, and it give me great depth of field. nothing wrong with this ND filter what so ever.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for If you're looking for an inexpensive ND filter this is a good choice. However, there is a pronounced tint towards magenta with this filter.
