The Tiffen 72mm Neutral Density 0.9 Filter is a solid ND filter with an 8x filter factor that provides a 3 stop exposure reduction. Its 0.9 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting to precision metal rings.

0.9 neutral density filter darkens the image, allowing you to photograph with a longer shutter speed or wider aperture than normally required.
Providing a 3 stop exposure reduction, this filter allows you to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.
Filter does not affect coloration of the image and is ideal for use with other filters.
72mm front filter threads allow for use with other filters.
Plastic filter case for storage and transport.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product! I bought this ND filter to help with photographing waterfalls. Although I haven't found it as useful on very overcast days for my needs, it has allowed me to have more success in photographing waterfalls in brighter sunlight. If not for this filter I would not have gotten one of my better recent shots where the sunlight was shining through the trees onto a small waterfall. It also helps with getting the swirl pool around waterfalls. It can also be stacked with a CPL filter, which comes in handy. I haven't found any negatives so far and I've used it several times. I should have bought it a long time ago and I wouldn't have to go back and redo several falls.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from When 0.6 Just Isn't Enough I needed a darker ND filter for times when light was too harsh to film moving water. This filter is perfect for these situations. I also own it's counterpart, the Tiffen 0.6. Together, these filters give me all of the shutter speed I need for almost every situation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Superb Quality Dynamic Results This filter is one of the better neutral density filters i have used, it allowed me to shoot photos in extreme light and get photos that came out with good exposure. I was able to shoot some water falls and rivers with slow shutter speeds in broad daylight and come out with some well balanced awesome shots. While shooting sports with this filter the subject really pops out from the background and gives the photo a much more personal feel.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I knew I was taking a chance I understood this ND filter was more for BW and since it was used the price was 1/2 normal so figured I would try on color. It does seem the shots on color as off. I tried tweaking the WB and it was better still not great. Nothing wrong with product and BH even offered to a return but decided to keep and try on BW. I will also reorder a ND more for color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Filter This ND filter is a quality piece of glass that effectively cuts the light down enabling you to get that shot that otherwise might not be possible. This is great if you want to shoot some waterfalls on a sunny day or for any effect where you would want a slower shutter speed.
