    Zacuto ZARM-L3 reviews

ZARM-L3 Zamerican Articulating Arm V3 Large Version 12" is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Fails after time Considering the amount paid, this should be a fool-proof piece of gear. It was awesome for months. But, it has a major design flaw that causes it to fail after months of use. The ball (silver ball inside the silver part on the ends) is attached to the black 15mm end piece. That connection fails and starts spinning after several months. No amount of tightening will help as the parts that slip are meant to be permanently locked together. There are no adjustments to make. Once it starts slipping, it never stops. Have since replaced it with a $ generic arm with a 15mm adapter on the end.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy and well built This is a well built arm and I don't think I will ever buy a threaded arm again. My only slight reservation is for my 1lb monitor I have found that I really have to crank it tight to stop any drift at some angles, and that there is quite an unnerving creaking sound as I tighten. However, Zacuto provide a lifetime guarantee on their products so at least I don't have to worry that I might be over-tightening. I suspect it's just a sound I'm not used to. I'll add that this is not so tight that I have any trouble releasing it... it's just I'm not used to it. If I need another, I'll buy Zacuto.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Zamerican Arm Version 3 The Zamerican Arm is an articulating arm for holding accessories-usually a monitor--on 15mm rods. I use mine to hold a Marshall monitor on a Zacuto baseplate under my video cameras. The Zamerican, like all Zacuto products that I've experienced, is VERY well made and functions flawlessly. You may see people moaning about the price of Zacuto gear. Yes, it is not cheap but the materials and engineering are top notched. I have no worries about mounting my monitor on this arm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every cent I love Zacuto gear. I think everyone does, but not everyone likes the price tag that comes along with it. I used to be one of these people also. However, after using articulating arms from other manufacturers (cough - Kamerar) actual usability and reliability are trumping everything else. Every single product from Zacuto is an absolute dream to work with and this arm is no different. It's easy to tighten. It's easy to manipulate into whatever position you need it. And, most importantly, it doesn't move once it is locked down. And, unlike some other articulating arms, you don't have to get down and go Hulk to tighten this one down. Just a simple finger tight and you are good to go. Seriously, stop reading my review and just buy it. It's worth it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Used to mount monitor to rails. I have a couple of different arms but I wanted something that would lock tight and stay tight even when using rails on a shoulder mount. Zacuto arms are clearly the best. You get what you pay for .

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Upgrade from what I had I use this to attach my Atomos Shogun Flame to my cage. When you pick it up, you know it is quality. I like the speed of use when coupled with attachment points having 15mm rod points (Zicromounts). Previously I used a different system where I had to screw the arm into the monitor itself. This is much faster and, honestly, more secure. The only 2 reasons I gave 4 stars is 1. Price and 2. it feels I need to crank down on this pretty hard to get a solid lock on it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from simply the best I own also some other magic arms from other manufacturers but with a thread. This one is based on a very simple idea: the only way to prevent the monitor or the viewfinder from swinging or turning is to block it via a 15mm rod head for a clamp at both ends. This arm has a convenient size, is sturdy and precisely blocked in the position you choose. This Zacuto arm is a real good investment

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Arm Amazing Arm for Monitors and Recorders. I use this arm with the Sound Devices Pix240 and the Odyssey7 Monitor/Recorders. For sure use the large Arm for any of these devices. Don't forget to also order the Zacuto Z-MO-2 Z-Mount II. I don't recommend putting the arm straight into the C100/C300 plate as this arm needs the Zacuto Z-MO-2 Z-Mount II for proper balance and support.
