Maxtor STM31004SSA20G-RK Overview

The 1TB Shared Storage II Single Drive Network Hard Drive from Maxtor is a high-capacity drive with an interface that allows it to be connected via Gigabit Ethernet and a rotation speed of 7200rpm.

In addition to providing simple network storage, the drive can serve as a network server for a USB 2.0 storage device. You can even use the included backup software to schedule data backups to the attached USB 2.0 storage device.

The drive is easily integrated into your network, making it easy to share files among users. You can even integrate it into your wireless network by plugging it into your wireless access point or router. The included SimpleView software lets you backup data from your network. These features make the drive an excellent solution for media streaming, data backup, or general storage in small networks.

Gigabit Ethernet Interface
The standard Gigabit Ethernet interface allows users to access data and administrators to remotely administer the drive through a standard LAN connection, making it easy to add to your existing network infrastructure. The drive can be connected to a wireless network by connecting it to a wireless access point, router, or bridge.
UPnP AV Compatibility
The drive is compatible with the UPnP AV standard for media streaming. This allows UPnP AV compliant devices to access video, music, and photos stored on the drive.
USB Expansion
Two USB ports are present on the drive. You can use these to connected a shared printer, or hard drive. You'll be able to use the drive as a network print server, or attach additional hard drives to expand its storage capacity.
