question

What backdrop roller system would be strong enough to use with this? I busted the plastic Manfrotto rollers trying to roll this sucker up. I think the static load is fine, but once you torque it when it's all unwound and 14 feet are in the air, the load is too much.
Asked by: Matt
I used 10 foot electrical conduit pipe supported by two autopoles and superclamps with an improvised receiver for the naked pipe. This worked great, very stiff pipe (light) prevented the sag. However, you can also unroll the vinyl "upward" and then use spring clamps on the cross bar and roll out the excess if you need the floor space, or just leave the rest of it rolled up on its core at the base of the setup. That way only about 8-10 feet of vinyl is being supported by the cross bar vs the entire unused, rolled up portion. Only raise what you need upward, the rest unroll on the ground and leave the core on the floor.

question

Will these work on a wall-mounted roller system, like the Impact wall mounting kit? If so, what's the diameter of the tube these come on (for getting some PVC pipe)?
Asked by: Kat L.
Savage lists their vinyl background as having a cardboard core which measures about 2.1 on the inside. If using it with the Impact Wall Mounting Kit, the Vari-Drives in that kit would insert into the cardboard core to help suspend it up onto the wall hooks.
