The Century Precision Optics 0HD-16TC-AG is a 1.6x telephoto converter lens for both the Panasonic AG-HPX170 and AG-HMC150 camcorders. The lens attaches directly to the zoom lens. The 1.6x HD teleconverter instantly shifts the focal length range in the telephoto direction without light loss. This converter lens also offers partial zoom-through capability, with vignetting occurring from the mid-point out to full wide angle.

No there is no additional support needed to mount this onto the camera. It will thread on natively onto the lens.
