Is this compatible with the 6D Mark II ?
Asked by: Donald
It's not really all that difficult. There are only 2 screws that hold it in place which are very accessible once the lens is taken off the body.

question

I have a fleet of fast SLR lenses so this screen should help with them. I have only one Canon lens, but it is the 28-135 f3.5-5.6 zoom, which is outside of the recommended range for this screen. I understand the screen will darken the viewfinder with slower lenses, which is OK, but will it affect autofocus or throw the exposure off? I don't see switching screens for this one lens, but I'm not sure if the lens will be usable with this screen. Thanks.
Asked by: K.A.
The focusing screen will not affect autofocus with lenses. Just to your eye it might look darker in the finder when you use your slower lenses like the 28-135mm lens. It is recommended not to use that screen if you are using slower lenses.

question

Can I use it for EOS 6D ?I could not find a single reference on the internet to Eg-S focusing screen specifically for EOS 6D. This must be the one the 6D user manual is referring to..

Yes, the Canon Super Precision Matte Eg-S Interchangeable Focusing Screen is for use with the 6D, as well as the 5D Mark II, with lenses that are f/2.8 or faster.

question

Does this focusing screen affect live view at all? 11 of the 13 lenses I own are 2.8 or faster, but I do routinely use the Canon 16-35 f/4 which I understand will darken in the viewfinder. However I mostly use the 16-35 for landscapes with live view anyway so just wondering what to expect there. Thanks for your input.
Asked by: Kristian
Nope, not at all. Live view bypasses the focusing screen completely.
