JVC VNV25RP10X Overview

The JVC Dual Stream Network Camera Package is a value-for-money pack that includes the VN-V25U security camera, a 5-50 mm lens, and an outdoor housing for the security camera.

The VN-V25U security camera has a 1/4" progressive scan CCD sensor and simultaneously streams captured images in 2 video formats - Quad-VGA Motion JPEG and VGA MPEG-4. The PoE (Power over Ethernet) feature allows the camera to draw power through the Ethernet cable itself, without any extra wiring or power outlets, saving on installation costs.

The security camera allows selectable partial scanning of up to 20 areas and comes with a variable gamma function that automatically compensates for backlight fluctuations to retain the image quality. While the password protection and IP address filtering enhance network security, the unlimited private masking positions protect the specified area of the screen to maintain privacy.

While MPEG-4 compression is useful for seamless transmission of images over a low-bandwidth network, Motion JPEG is preferable when surveillance footage is being used as evidence data, wherein quality and detail are important.
Day and Night Surveillance
When the light level in the camera's field-of-view decreases below a specific level, the IR-cut filter is removed and the camera switches from color to black & white mode ensuring clear imagery round the clock.
Power over Ethernet (PoE)
The camera to receive power from the network, without any extra wiring or power outlets; this makes for cost-saving installations.
Selectable Partial Scanning
Select up to 20 preset positions and distribute them sequentially similar to the "Auto Patrol" function of PTZ cameras.
Easy Wide-D Function for Backlight Compensation
The Wide-D function uses gamma adjustment on images to identify details of the subject even in backlit and high-contrast lighting conditions.
Easy Setup and Viewing with Built-in Tools
The built-in web-based setup tools and viewer can be accessed from a PC connected to the camera and the viewer also enables snapshots and alarm reception.
Privacy Masking
With an unlimited number of private masking positions and free shapes, the camera uses bitmap-format overlay data to protect specific areas of the screen from surveillance and maintain privacy.

Motion Detection
Continuously compares the current frame with a pre-selected frame to trigger an alarm or initiate recording when motion is detected in the camera's field-of-view.
Alarm Inputs/Outputs
2 alarm inputs and 2 alarm outputs, to accept an external alarm input and send an alarm trigger over a network to other devices.
Pre/Post-alarm Buffer
An 8 MB pre/post-alarm buffer provides space for saving footage immediately before and after an alarm.
Up to 20 Simultaneous Users
In standalone mode, the camera supports a maximum of up to 20 simultaneous users; when supporting multicasting, the maximum number of supported users is virtually limitless.

20% smaller than conventional JVC boxtype cameras. With the inner tripod base, it can be installed into an even smaller housing. No special housing is required for installation when switching from an existing CCTV system.
