    Kingston 8GB reviews

8GB Compact Flash Memory Card is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 67.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decent card for the price. I needed new CF cards after a wallet of them recently went missing from my bag, Locally there just isn't much selection of them. I usually buy San Disk cards but being a little short on funds I decided to give the Kingston 8GB a try In my Nikon D200's So I bought 1 card to try, So far so good no errors no problems of any kind reading or writing. They are NOT the fastest memory cards so if you shoot video I'd go to another card but for Non Sports photos they are A excellent value for what you get, I plan on buying 2 to 4 more as funds allow it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bang for the Buck I use this an other Kingston cards in Olympus E520 and E600 cameras. In older cameras without video I don't need the latest, fastest class of card, so Kingston offers a great choice for me and my budget. I've found Kingston memory products of all types (SD cards and RAM as well) to work as well for me as more expensive brands.I'm a working photographer on a tight budget, so reliable performance at a low price is important for me.Things that are great about it:Affordable yet capable performance.Never had a problem with other Kingston CF cards I own in 5 years of use of and over 75K captures.Things that are not so great:Apparently Kingston no longer packages plastic cases with CF cards.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from okay, but can lock up. Normally works fine but one time the memory card locked up (it caused my camera to give an error message and would not let me take any more pictures). This happened when I took a bunch of pictures in sequence. Fortunately the pictures already on the card were o.k. and I was able to download them. After I reformatted the card it started working again just fine. Maybe it was just a fluke but if you get this card you should definitely carry a back-up. I have a different memory card from another manufacturer and this has never happened with my other card. (I use a canon 20D with this card).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Compact Flash Fantastic Price! 8GB has plenty of storage space! High Quality! Large square size is easy to hold onto with the hands! I bought this card to use with a Canon 1D camera. I had not used a CF card before and absolutely love it. I wish all cameras used Compact Flash instead of the small SD cards. Easy to use. My computer does not have a CF card reader, so I purchased a couple of Compact Flash readers from B&H Photo. Very affordable! Transfer of images is smooth and flawless. I will be buying more of these Kingston 8GB Compact Flash cards. They feel sturdier and more rugged than the SD cards. Highly recommend Kingston brand. It has worked perfectly! (I am advanced-amateur.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Value! You just can't beat that price for a product this reliable! I own a pair of 512MB, 1GB, 2GB, and now a pair of these 8GB cards. I have taken literally tens of thousands of photos with the older cards and they are all still going strong. The only complaint I can think of is Download Speeds from card to computer...but this is not necessarily the fault of the card.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Faulty, not reliable I bought 3 of these and 2 became corrupted shortly after using them and would no longer work. I use a Canon 5d and Rebel xti. I took a few ( maybe 15 pictures) and then it came up (Error with the CF card.) They would no longer register any pics and would not play back any of the pics that I previously took. Maybe I got a fluke but 2 out of the 3 that I bought had this problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great deal I purchsed this inexpenive card baed on the experince I had with Kingstone 4 GB i have been using for the last god knows how long. They are very durable and never failed on me. I use them for photo (not video) so don't need high speed, and don't really do high burst shoots. lower capacities are better in my mind. If a card fails, you don't loose all of your shots.
