This has been a really handy table to have for my laptop while shooting tethered. Very sturdy and looks nice!

Great stand for gigs!!! Also works around the house...

I bought this laptop stand to use my MBP at gigs with my MIDI keyboard setup. I decided on this model for the extra brackets to hold my computer as secure as possible. While the computer still has some freedom of movement, the brackets prevent it from slipping or sliding out accidentally. The hardware feels very solid and durable. The few plastic parts are the reinforced composite used on the various knobs. I really love my Manfrotto tripod for my DSLR camera, and I have a feeling this Roland stand will last me just as long... a lifetime if I take a little care with it! I also use this for an occasional standing desk at home. It's super lightweight and easily portable throughout the house. It's totally worth paying a bit more for something that's top quality and really well designed!!

Can you remove the platform from the base? And does it come with a carrying case?

The platform can be removed from the base, and the base can be collapsed for transport. Currently we do not offer a bag or case for this product.

Anything is possible. The top does not fold down which is great because you don't want it to slip wit4h a laptop on it.
