Roland SS-PC1 reviews

SS-PC1 Support Stand for PC is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I use it for everything! OK, I know this is for supporting a laptop, and it is superior at doing that. The large, cushy rubber clamps hold my laptop AND the thin USB fan I use quite well... you can clamp down nice and tight. The height adjustment gets used a lot by me; It easily adjusts for sitting or standing. The tripod legs fit in tight spaces well and give the stand a nice, secure, stable feeling even at the height of travel. The SS-PC1 Support Stand for PC by Roland also makes a great stand for my Axiom 25 MIDI Controller, as you can imagine. The size is perfect for a keyboard/controller that size (25 keys). However, I find that I am using the stand for adulterated purposes such as a TV Dinner Tray and a reading/writing stand at bedside. Not very stylish you say, but it fits my style , again, perfectly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Almost perfect It's a very solid laptop stand and fairly easy to use. Unfortunately, the table top is connected to a neck that's attached by two bolts that does NOT allow the table to fold to lay flat against the support beam. You have to unscrew the bolt to detatch the table from the neck, otherwise the neck sticks out. The whole point of my purchase was so that I could use a stand that folded up and fit in my locker.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for the money Used for tethered photography. A little shakey, but for the money is fairly sturdy. Recommend weight bag for better stability. Product could be built to extend a little higher.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solved a major problem! This was the answer to a major problem I had when I played out my Roland TD-30. I was often asked to play shows (musicals) and have been recently asked to play the electric kit for ease of mixing. The ability to have kits and sounds loaded on a lap top is a great multiplier. BUT, where do I put the laptop? This product is amazing. I have a very large screen lap top and this fits perfectly with space left over for a wireless mouse. The stand is solid and blends in with hardware. Considering a second one for my mixing board.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's good, could be better The table size is good for my 14 inch laptop it leaves about 3 or 4 inches on the side for my mouse so I like that. Things that could be improved, its just slow to put away, if you're used to drum hardware this is going to be your slowest stand. No nylon in the leg brace, no quick release on the upper platform, etc. Other than that I like it, there's not a lot of PC specific stands and this one is good. The upper hold downs are real nice for moving around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again I purchased to hold my laptop during mobile photo booth operation. The stand is sturdy, well constructed and easy to assemble. The stand is light enough to carry and the legs fold together to close; however, the top does close enough to lay flat against the legs or remove easily to place in a carrying case. I am using to support a 15 MacBook Pro or a Surface Laptop. Both laptops fit the table area with limited room for a mouse. The top slants just enough to remain almost level to allow comfortable use of laptop but will not tilt further or fold completely flat. There are two arms on the top that can be adjusted to hold the laptop comfortably; they can be adjusted to accommodate laptop's width (15 would be limit) but not to accommodate height (allows 1 for height). The arms hold the laptop in place and prevent sliding. I am happy with the purchase and the quality of the material. Picture attached showing stand holding my 15 MacBook Pro.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from useful for photography, video shoots too I use this to support my laptop in studio when shooting still life. I also plan to use this on video shoots but have not had the opportunity. Would give it 5 stars but the design does not allow it to collapse easily. Instead you must unbolt two bolts to separate the table top from the stand. Watch out for quality control. I've bought three of these and returned one because the three legs would not slide up on the stand part.
