The Tiffen 67mm Skylight 1-A Filter is a general use filter with a slight pink tint to help improve overall color accuracy and clarity. The light pink coloration helps to reduce the overall bluish cast of daylight and is especially effective when photographing landscapes and in shade.

The Sky 1A filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting to precision metal rings.

Helps to improve general color accuracy and clarity when photographing outdoors in daylight and shade.
Light pink tint reduces bluish cast of natural light.
General protection filter reduces dust, moisture, and scratches from reaching lens elements.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rock Solid The previous skylight filter was smashed from several feet against a rock on Mount Huron, a Fourteener north of Buena Vista, Colorado. The filter cracked in a pie-slice fashion, but protected my Nikon lens from destruction. Self-sacrifice is the reason that I cover my lenses with skylight filters. The filters pay off. I am also happy with my polarizing and close-up filters that I use regularly on my 18-70mm lens with my Nikon D200. I am waiting for the new line of Nikon cameras to possibly purchase ...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good lens protection Two very good things about this filter. 1 It reduces the amount of UV light entering the camera. 2 It gives protection to the glass element of your lens. If you should accidentally bump your lens, the filter is likely to absorb the shock and break rather than have the lens damaged. Cheap insurance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smart purchase This filter has been a lens saver for years. I bought two already this year, because I rent out my gear to high school students that shoot sports. This means that they get hit by athletes or balls occasionally. Both accidents ended up with a shattered filter and perfectly functional lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great protection I actually purchased this a second time because I discovered a cracked filter. My camera lens was in perfect shape thanks to this amazing little product. I like the slight bit of pink as I shoot at a dragstrip that is out in the blue, blue sky ad with the track sometimes it is to much blue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tiffen Skylight 1-A filter Fits perfectly, priced right. Perfect protection for my lens without using a lens hood that I had to take on and off a lot if using the built in flash. With this on I don't even have to worry that much about popping the lens cap on and off. Great value....

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cloudy images I bought this for my 18-140 Nikkor lens and after using it for both daytime photos and night work I finally had to take it off. In the middle of the image a strange cloud appears, its not really strong in the image but still noticeable. Waste of money

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product Good protection for lenes. It's a lot cheaper and easier to replace a cheap filter than to have your lens repaired if you scratch it. Does not seems to have any effect on the picture quality. Worth the few bucks.
