A typical mass transit bus or train involves lots of people coming and going, the frequent opening and closing of doors, and of course the movement of the vehicle. This in turn creates high levels of humidity, the raising of dust, sudden changes in temperature and constant vibration. With its rugged, IP66 rated, tamper resistant casing, the Axis Communications AXIS 209MFD-R is the perfect candidate for handling those tough conditions. Just as important is its flat design, which not only helps it maintain a low profile, but also means it won't interfere with the free movement of passengers.
Optimized for Use Inside a Bus or Train
When transportation officials came looking for a security camera suitable for use inside a mass transit bus or train, the folks at Axis knew they couldn't offer them any of their standard cameras. This led them to develop the AXIS 209MFD-R. This compact and rugged network camera is specifically designed to resist the high levels of vibration, dust, humidity and fluctuating temperatures typically present inside a mass transit vehicle.
Digital PTZ Function
Because of the high resolution images this camera generates, you'll be able to magnify the center of the image and then move it up and down and from side in much the same way you would operate a motorized PTZ camera. Additionally, this camera offers a number of preset positions as well as a guard tour.
Active Tampering Alarm
A built sensory system will activate an alarm when it detects someone trying to block, spray paint or otherwise tamper with the camera.
Power over Ethernet
To simplify the cable installation process, this camera receives electrical power via its Ethernet cable.
