Axis Communications Q7900 Overview
Note:
Blade servers sold separately
4 Gigabit Ethernet Ports
Thanks to 4 gigabit Ethernet connectors, this unit is able to handle the huge amounts of data involved without a hitch.
Hot Swappable System
You can add or change Blade servers on the fly, without the need to first power down the unit. You also have complete freedom to plug or unplug any number of cameras between Blades or within the same Blade. Needless to say this is a most important feature for any dynamic security facility.
Expandable
Unlike standalone AXIS Servers, this unit was designed for easy expansion. A security facility, for instance, can start out with a few Blades and as surveillance requirements grow, install additional blades, with not only more video ports, but also higher resolution and other security enhancing features. In the event that fewer than 14 Blades are installed, included blanking panels can be used to give the unit a neat appearance and to prevent dust from entering internal electronics.
PTZ & Alarm Ports
Each slot is supplied with 6 RS-485 connectors for controlling PTZ cameras and 12 alarm I/O ports for sending and receiving alarm signals. As with camera images, all of these are accessible and configurable over the network.
2 Redundant Power Supply
For supreme reliability, this comes with two built-in power supplies. Should one fail, the other one will activate automatically, keeping the unit running uninterrupted. There are also hot swappable fans that can be replaced without the need to first power down the unit.
