    FUJIFILM S1500 Reviews

FinePix S1500 Digital Camera is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 46.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun camera Wow, I was so totally impressed with this camera right out of the box. It is so user friendly and takes excellent photos. I really waited a long time before buying a camera because so many of them seemed to be too similar. None of them really stood out except this one. I bought this camera for a trip I'm planning to Egypt next Spring. I wanted one that had a better than average zoom and video recording option. The fact that the video plays back in QuickTime is a bonus. I highly recommend this camera to people who want good quality images and videos without forking over a huge lump of cash.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great camera for High School photography I am a high school digital photography instructor as well as professional photographer. This is a sturdy amazingly high quality camera for students to use. I have 170 students each year and they aren't always easy on the cameras---this is the only camera in this price range that can take the beating. It has amazing clarity and the image quality---I've always loved the Fuji sensors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great camera I purchased this camera as a replacement for my Canon A640 (shattered the lens) and am VERY happy with this camera! I primarily shoot nature, wildlife and landscape photography. The image quality is awsome and very sharp. You could see the detail - eye lashes and whiskers on the shot of the tiger with great clarity. No sharpening necessary! The color quality is excellent. Image stabalization is very good - can hand hold a lot more shots without having to pull out a tripod. The live histogram feature is nice. Camera has a true continous shooting mode - saves all the pics in a sequence, not just the last 3. Not as good in extreme low light situations and the faster 13 frames per second shooting mode is not available in the higher resolutions. But that is what my DSLR camera is for. The only complaint that I have is with Fuji, not the camera. The advanced owner's manual is provided on a CD. A printed manual would have been nice to toss in the camera bag until one gets to know the camera inside out to access the advanced features of the camera, like which button did I push again to see the live histogram? That said, the learning curve is minimal with this camera. It only took a short time to learn the camera features inside out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It may be the best bargain around. I have owned and used a Fuji S5000 several years, and I was very impressed. I bought the S1500 just to make sure I had a similar camera in case anything ever happened to the S5000. I am even more impressed with the S1500. It is easy to use, has some impressive features, and gives you that brilliant Fufifilm color and sharpness. It also uses the SD and the SDHC cards which is a real plus if you use the video feature. There are a couple of Fuji design features that are a bit irritating -- the battery AND the memory card compartments open with the same door, and some of the control buttons are located in areas that make it a bit hard to get to one without accidentally triggering another. All in all, though, this is great camera at a super great price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good camera at a good price I bought 2 of these for my yearbook staff to use. The camera is easy to operate. I especially like the settings knob to decide the setup. Picture quality is good (though not quite as good as my Nikon 8700) and gives very good prints at 4x6, I don't know about 8x10. The zoom range is great. Only 2 negatives: The flash is manual pop-up so if you don't pay attention to the flash warning on the big LCD you will end up with noise from high ISO settings. Also the battery door is a little flimsy. Flash range is good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I wanted a camera that was easy to use but would take good pictures of my kids riding horses and playing baseball. I LOVE the constant shoot featue, never again will I miss the actual swing of the bat, the turn of a barrel or that once in a lifetime shot of the perfect trail pattern. I have been playing with the macro shoot too, really fun! Didn't know I had such pretty flowers in my yard. As you can tell I am not anywhere close to a real photographer and for the ameateur like me, you will LOVE this camera.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Price for the Camera Shooting indoors and outdoors can be difficult but the S1500 does both well. The clarity of the pictures is amazing and it is great buy for anyone looking to become more involved in photography without spending the $$$ for a high end professional camera yet. You get that big camera feel with this small, powerful camera.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Purchase I really like this camera. I am not a sophisticated user but wanted something with more flexibiiity without an extremely high price. I am happy with the quality of the pics. I find the controls easy to use and have not had to revisit the tutorial to be able to use the camera. Everything is laid out nicely and easy to use. Shutter lag is an issue but once I got used to it I was able to overcome this issue in most situations. I really believe this is a superior product of the extremely attractive price.

    question

does this camera take wide angle shots?
    Asked by: Anonymous
The Fujifilm FinePix S1500 has a lens with a 35mm film equivalent focal range of 33-396mm. 33mm at the widest wouldnt be overly wide. For wide angle shots, you would want a point and shoot with a 23 or 24mm equivalent focal length at the widest part of its range.
