    Domke 720-250D Reviews

DSLR Camera Insert (Gray/Green) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 52.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is exactly what I needed I really liked the Domke F-2 bag but I did not like the 4 position insert at all and it was all I could do to carry the bag because of it. I didn't want to buy yet another bag. I was never really able to get what I wanted. I saw this insert and figured the price was right and was worth a try. A try was all I needed. I was able to configure the insert to take a D750 and 4 lenses and all are easily accessible. This is a BIG insert with Velcro edged dividers. Depending on what you need the dividers make this insert very configurable. I am not disappointed with this at all. I will upload a picture for your review when I get one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for my uses. I went to ... to check out the Domke F2 'Ruggedwear' bag. It was a silly Canadian price and I wasn't really happy with the level of padding that came with the bag. The box style nylon insert can take four items (flash/lenses) but then my 5d2 and lens were just rattling around. I saw the SLR insert on the B+H website and ordered it.The insert is great. It will take 2 flashes, two lenses and the 5d2 with a lens. You can squeeze a lens into one of the flash pockets but it does cramp things a bit. It takes up the whole of the F2 but I'm much happier that my gear is well padded now. My only issue is that the original insert is now pretty much not needed. Perhaps Domke should give a choice on inserts and adjust the price accordingly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Glad I bought it! I bought this hoping it would fit into my normal sized LL Bean back pack. I wasn't sure it was going to but to my surprise it fit perfectly! The only downside to this product is that there is no padding on the bottom. There is around it but not on the bottom. So I slipped in a piece of foam to the bottom of my back pack before I placed it in. I can fit my D300 w/200mm lens, a 50mm lens, camera strap, memory card case, a large case with filters and some extra batteries. Even have room to add a jacket or sweatshirt. Oh and my flash too! LOVE IT!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from flimsy and fairly cheap If you are hoping to convert a non-photo bag into one using an insert like this, forget it! I am dying for a true messenger bag (I have a large Chrome bag) as my over the shoulder travel bag and carry on for flights. The chrome is not a padded photo bag. An insert like this will not protect equipment. It is thin material with NO padding on the bottom, and where it is padded, it's not very thick. It's made as an insert for a photo bag, and it's not great even at that. It also does not fit a canon 5d in the slot for the camera+lens once I put in the other lenses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent padding for use in Domke bags Make no mistake, this insert is *B*I*G*. Somehow I thought it would fit easily /together/ with the standard insert into my F-1X little bit bigger Domke bag. Reality check: it does not. Quality is standard Domke, although it might be easy to mix up features with sloppy construction. Yes, the bottom of the inserts is open. So you can remove the padding if you don't want it, or add extra if needed. There's no padding at the bottom, but the larger Domke bags (this insert does not fit in an F-2) have a bottom board anyway, so who cares? For extra protection, and because the room is there; my camera sits on the strap and some other small stuff (airblower, etc). The two pouches at the left side (on the picture) seem custom made for my strobes and the lens pockets on the right side are big enough to hold a 70-200/2.8 lens. If you like to carry your camera in your Domke bag with a lens attached, this insert is a must-have. Keep in mind that the Domke philosophy requires some care from your side. There's protection against bumping into objects, not against dropping the bag from the bed of you truck. Within that scope it's an excellent product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Should be the standard for the F2! This is the perfect insert for the F2 bag and in my opinion should replace the standard 4-compartment. Fits my 5D mk2, 24-105L, 50mm 1.4 and 430EX with room for another lens or two (if the flash moves into a side pocket). Well made and tough. I would have liked it to be available in black but otherwise it's a worthwhile purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from a tad small was hoping it would hold a 5Dmk2 with a grip and 24-70 and some other stuff but it was a tad small. Good construction and would work for a smaller system or with the 50mm mounted on the body.
