Leupold keeps their successful tradition of delivering state-of-the-art sport optics alive with their persistent attention to detail, precision and quality - they pioneered the process of waterproofing optics via nitrogen purging in 1947. Since then and to this day, Leupold continues to push the envelope while producing some of the world's finest sport optics and accessories.
Leupold's VX-3 riflescopes offer a world-class set of features: an Xtended Twilight lens system with DiamondCoat 2 coatings, blackened lens edges, second generation waterproofing, a dual spring erector system, and cryogenically treated precision adjustments. Additionally, every VX-3 sports a special 24k gold-plated ring and medallion.
When your need to cross over into higher magnification levels becomes a reality, the VX-3 4.5-14x40 rises to the occasion; its high-performance optics and features makes short work of longer distances.
Keeping the magnification on the lower side of the scale enables you to hit closer and ensures the brightest sight picture. Dialing up to 14x not only increases the size of your target, it also limits the sight picture's depth-of-field - this combination effect lays the ground-work for successful long-distance shot-placement.
This particular VX-3 4.5-14x40 is configured with a 1.0" main tube, and a Boone & Crockett Big Game reticle.
To use a riflescope with your firearm, you'll need a mounting base and mounting rings in addition to the scope itself. Bases attach to your firearm and the rings attach your scope to the base. Proper spacing of the rings, as well as the ring height should be considered to ensure a proper line of sight can be established. This will maximize the value of your investment, and enhance your shooting experience. It should be noted that in many mounting applications, a professional gunsmith's skills will be needed for proper installation.
