This dome is clearly very well machined and the optics look very good, but all of that goes out the door when it comes to the mount. Basically, there's a thin o-ring inside the mount. When the dome slides onto the housing that o-ring is supposed to drop into the channel that holds the plastic flash diffuser. It's a struggle to get the dome on and off. I had to hold the housing between my knees and wiggle the dome on and off with two hands. No way am I taking on that task at depth. The first time I pulled the dome off the o-ring fell out. As a wet mount I expect to be able to install and remove the dome at will during a dive. This one just doesn't make that feasible.

What is the difference between this item and the Ikelite W-30?
Everything underwater looks 25% larger and closer to our eyes and any lens with a flat element or port. Your camera's built-in lens will have the same angle of view underwater as it does on land with the Ikelite WD-4 Wide-Angle Conversion Dome Port. The Ikelite W-30 Underwater Wide-Angle Conversion Lens turns the lens built into you camera into a lens with a 40% larger angle of view. You do get more distortion with the W-30 and the edge of the image will be sharper with the WD-4.

Ikelite WD-4 Wide-Angle Conversion Dome Port is not compatible with the Ikelite flat port 5510.35. You have to use the port, extension and ring listed on the Ikelite port chart for your lens.

Those these fit to the ikelite housing canon g1x mark ii?
The question is not clear but...this will fit on the iIkelite housings tht have a fixed, flat port. check the Ikelite web site for full info. I was unimpressed with it since it vignettes my Nikon P7700.
