Vixen's 10x42 DCF Atrek Binocular is a nice choice as a universal viewer for any light, produced by a company known exclusively for optics. When compared to 8x42 models, a 10x42 model presents a bit of extra magnification in exchange for a slightly narrower field of view-but when observing small objects at a great distance, you'll definitely notice the difference between 8x and 10x magnification more than you'll notice the narrower viewing area. It still retains extensive light gathering and background blurring capacity, just as the 8x42 Atrek. The 10x42 DCF Atrek's also got fully multicoated optics, on every lens surface, and excellent close focus capacity.
