The JVC DVD-R 4.7GB 16x Recordable Disc is a write once ("DVD-R", as opposed to the DVD-RW which can be rewritten) recordable DVD disc, known for its high performance. Each disc has a pearl white colored label, and is playback compatible with most DVD players and DVD drives; nearly all accept the DVD-R format. Like all DVD discs, each disc has 4.7GB of storage capacity and 120 minutes of recording time.
The discs' maximum recording speed (which would require a 16x DVD-R drive) is 16x, or ~21 megabytes per second, which means filling the disc to capacity takes at least 3.8 minutes.
