RPS Lighting RS-RT06/P Overview

This Dot-Line Deluxe Digital Remote Shutter Release is a wireless radio transmitter and receiver set that is designed to work with the Pentax 2.5mm connector as found on the K20D, K200D, K10D, K100D, K100D Super, & K7 digital cameras.

The remote possesses a maximum broadcast range of 100' under optimal conditions, and features a two-position switch, for focusing operation or shutter release. A direct line of sight is not required unlike optical or infra-red triggers. The "deluxe" version of this Dot Line remote features a digital display that indicates which one of the four radio channels is currently in use.

I take a lot of landscape pictures and using the wirelss shutter release allows me to move away from the tripod to look at angles and possible other shots while waiting for events to change. The RSRT06P is easy to use and understand. Only negative I can find is connection sometimes comes loose when dangling from camera.

Since purchasing my DSLR about a year ago, I have wanted to be able to set the camera up and walk away from it, allowing some truly candid shots. This unit will come in very handy for my son's wedding in Mexico this year. The wireless shutter performs just as promised and I couldn't be happier. I will definitely be sending more business to B&H.

The RPS Lighting RSRT06P Deluxe Digital Wireless Shutter Release will trigger the camera. The long exposure time will need to be set up in the camera.

Will this serve the same function as the "Pentax Remote Control F"? (I have the K20D.)

The RPS Lighting RSRT06P Deluxe Digital Wireless Shutter Release is a Radio based transmitter and is compatible with the Pentax K20 DSLR camera. It will trigger the camera the same as the Pentax Remote Control F.

So I clearly understand: Is there are receiver, which attaches to my camera, and a transmitter, that I hold to release shutter?

Yes, the RPS Lighting RSRT06P Deluxe Digital Wireless Shutter Release does include a receiver, which would connect to your camera using the included camera control cable. The receiver would receive the shutter release signal from the included transmitter. All included parts can be seen in the second product image on this product page.
